its always good to have a spare head to work on and mess around with lol... if it was anything like mine then you will have HEAPS of material to work with especially on the exhaust port

yeah well at the moment oil is leaking out from where the exhaust bolts on ! haha

Maybe as simple as valve stem seal(s) or just from oil getting past the rings. I can get valve stem seals from work if you ever need any stubsy

how hard they to change? should have a better look

You need to take the retainer off the top of the valves, you just put a deep socket(long socket) on the retainer, obviously wide enough to go over the colletts but not wider than the retainer, hold it on and give it a quick hit with the hammer and it pushes the retainer down and the colletts fall out, but if you go this far reseat the valves with some grinding paste and a valve lapping tool supercheap has all this stuff, but once the retainers are off the springs are removed and the seals are there, just use a flat screwdriver to lever them off. You may need a tool reinstall the retainers due to the springs needing pushing down to insert the colletts.

If you dont have a valve tool, just use the socket like i explained.

stem seals are easy enough, remove the collets, the retainers then the valve springs, the stem seals just sit over the valve stems.
the valve guides could be a bit worn though too, thats a machine shop job though

there is a bare XY140 head on ebay in vict for $76 delivered,
it has in the listingthat it is new, but there are marks on it where you can see it has been fitted before.
possibly from a new motor that had other issues, and they are parting it out?
