Narrow down the bike selection, first. XR50 is a hoot, but I'm about your height, and fit a 70 heaps better.

Like I said in the other near-identical thread, READ THE BUILDS. They're on here.
 
As Terry has mentioned, the build threads here will be your best friend. See what others are doing and even learn from there mistakes.
I doubt there is a mod out there that hasn't been done here.

Other than that i will be fine.
My mate has a crf50 style frame, on my crf70 i will wanting to do the same kind of thing he has done.
He has an 1' longer spring which makes his bike sit like upright and flat, very nice bike to ride, i was wondering anyone's idea's on this.

Also i won't be needing lever's as i never use front brake's ( nor back) but that will save expense's and less weight ( i use gears to slow down much more fun )
Also Anyone's mates selling a second hand crf-xr70 link them to me , and ill be happy to have a look :)
 
need help on 88 kit suggestions , forks,swingarm,rear suspension, other than that im good
 
Best thing to do is to buy a complete bike and build on it. That way you can ride it and mod it as funds allow as well as chop and change as your riding to find what works best and what don't work.

Doing it the other way around sucks, you keep forking out money and building but no riding. It soon grows old.
 
trustme i have been there done that buy complete bike its easier and cheap i spent like 8000 on my limited and about to spend another 1500 on my lil stocker buy them complete its way cheaper and eaiser and 550 for forks is cheap my speed forks with disc set up were lik 2000$
 
im buying a stock crf70, not building completely from ground up... building off a stocka.
 
still cost you a fortune ... with 70's its more go hard or go home , frame/swingarm kits (big $$$), and big bore for the engine to turn the bigger size bike ..

You could just run a +5 or so chinga swingarm for cheap , and i think its xr80 forks slip into the tubes and lengthen the front . but thats kind of a boring build isnt it :)

size really doesnt bother me, so i might go for a crf50 ,
but how much am i looking for :
88 kit
swingarm
rear shock
stronger forks
bar kit
no front breaks ( will drum wheels (stock) be alright)
and what are your suggestions wogytaz
 
keep it small , Fast50 +2.5 swingarm , speed forks/ or 32mm zochies , and elka shock from ebay while there cheap.

32mm zochies on ebay , for 850 or so i think , plus shipping .

fast50 speed forks from classichonda50sautralia , $1200 i think , and they also have the fast50 swingarms.
I would get a fast50 frame from him to while your shopping ...
 
jammo i know of nice 88 limited going for 2500 it in classfieds spped forks its bargin mate has number 61 plates on it
 
You clearly dont have a clue wipeass!
quality costs money .

It aint hard to clock up that much money on a minibike.
