sorry guys. i was looking at them all in the online stores, the lifan 140's are pictured with the cooler and is listed in the comes with, where as the yx's arent shown or listed.

just wanted to ask, as the 125's are air cooled and i didn't think it was that greater a leap for a 140 to be air cooled too.

Don't think it is mate... Mine doesn't have lines coming from it or anywhere it can...

So no, they aren't...:flipa: lol

Hang on, yes they are

Lifan runs the oil cooler from the crankcase close to the oil pump while the YX runs the lines form the head. The lifan should be getting allot more oil pressure and can run much less restrictive lines without the need for bango bolts, but then it has to pump the oil 3x further to the cooler. Cooling the head is more important than the crankcase but the lines on the head feed get in the way sometimes and can get very annoying.
So I'm undecided which cooling system I like more.

If I ever buy another 140 it'll be a YX for sure and just get an ORK to sort the stator issue. The YX is stuffed (my fault) so I chucked the better clutch in the lifan and might borrow the lightened oil slinger too, just not sure if it'd be worth it, but if I get an ORK for it I'll be swapping out for the YX slinger for sure.

Yeah they are, my bad.. I was looking in the same spot as my lifan140 lol...

:eek::eek:

any motor above 125cc is oil cooled
and done up 125's are oil cooled... like the gpx125
any engine can be oil cooled just by adding the adapter plate but it's completely un-necessary for a stock 125 or similar

sooo. braaap said today that they wern't. that they were air cooled and they could be oil cooled.

THAT means braaap have taken the oil coolers from the engine kit so they can sell them separately....
this doesn't surprise me at all braaaap have gone much much lower lol

yeah that doesn't suprise me either, whats an oil cooler kit worth?

i was under the impression that you couldn't remove the oil cooler because then the oil didn't reach all the parts of the engine.

no on the yx140 the oil cooler is just adapted to the head.... so you can put a side plate on the head that bridges the oil lines... so oil goes to the same places just without the cooling

oil cooler kit can be from $30 to $100 depending on quality... but braap probly sell em for $200, that's just their style u know :p

braaap sell the yx140 for $325, so even at an extra $50 would still be a good price, but im pretty hesitant to buy it now, i dont want to buy something that has been cheapafied.
