hi i am putting a new gearbox in a lifan 125, as 3rd gear was rewined, now when i put it together whilst still out the frame, the gearselector doesnt select the gears, it clicks up and down but the drive sprocket just spins freely, need help asap

put a 52mm tacho on mi atomik 50 today, same tacho as DVDrip has on his. well it works but only when i hold the green wire with my finger on the coil. what is the problem? i have spent over $100 on tachos and all have the same problem please i need help ASAP!!!!
