yeah i'll get that done asap. i'll order some new copper rings for it too. i've just run into a bit of a problem. the bottom of one of the exhaust bolts in stripped, so i can't get the nut on there. i gotta cut the stripped section of the bolt out with an angle grinder, then i'll remove the bolt...

just checked the exhaust bolts, there were very loose. i've done them up as much as i can, but there's still about a 1cm gap between the flange and the bottom of the head, is that about right? or should the flange be right up against the head? also are those bolts replaceable? before i started...

thanks for the responses guys. it doesn't back fire when i back off. however yesterday i did notice that after riding for about 20 mins the bike spluttered and died, then wouldn't start. waited about 10 mins and it started again and ran fine. i'll check the exhaust bolts first, then go from there.

Hi guys, went for a strap tonight, my mate noticed that when i was stationary for anymore than 30 seconds the exhaust would start glowing red. is my engine running hotter than it should be? i've always had a suspicion that it's running a bit lean, can i richen it by turning the mixture...

ok i adjusted the idle valve, now its idling fine with the choke on, but as soon as i turn the choke off it splutters and dies. i took it for a small ride with the choke on and it was running sweet, does this mean it's running to lean at the moment?
