sounds like it might be time for a new piston and rings or at least rings. its pretty easy to do i can rebuild my cr in about 2 hours over a few beers. thats what i love about 2 strokes they are so simple.

i finally got it! i just kept trying with the magnet and it finally got it, now i just have to find a new gear and selector fork and whack it all back together. i really hope i can remember where everything goes it's been apart for about 2 weeks now. thanks for the help.

nope, magnet didn't work im thinking about using a sledge hammer to get it out i think it might make me feel better too

my atomic came with all up for the gears but yer it still ripped the crap out of 3rd gear. i still can't get the pin out of the selector fork! its driving me insane i have been trying all morning with a magnet but its stuck on something.

same thing happened to me i have an atomic as well with a lifan 140 and i lost third i have split the cases and the pins that engage the gear are all snapped off im still trying to get the bloody selector fork off to replace the gear. but yer i would say thats your problem

nah there is nothing sticking out i was thinking about using a magnet i just have to find one now. i will let ya know how it goes

hey guys im in the process of trying to replace 3rd gear in my lifan 140 i have the cases split and i have found the problem gear but i cant get the selector fork off the drum. i pulled out the little clip but i cant work out how to get the pin out pls help its bloody frustrating.
