mud/water/dirt in the airfilter?

water in the electrics? in the wiring plugs/sockets, coil, coil lead, switches...?

there was defenitly mud ON the air filter dont know about in it i took the bowl of the carb had a bit of crap blocking the drainige bolt but otherwise clean im going to check the plugs and cdi soon i hope i can fix it but

just decided to see if it would kick over and it did but it just felt half assed usally its a nice firm kick but today it was sorta soft and its splutterd to life arggh wat does that mean any one

what colour is the spark?
remove the spark plug and earth the thread against the head or bare metal and kick it over.
it should be a nice big blue spark.
a small yellow spark could indicate the coil is almost dead?
or the cdi box is faulty?

have you set the valve/rocker clearances?

Strip the carbie down and clean it. It will have mud and water in the bowl.
Water floats around in the fuel and blocks the jets

this is bull**** ive been at it since eight i cant even get the spark plug out man i got a shifter multigrips and a few screwdrivers.i pulled apart the carby had a bit of **** in it no water but so i fuel soaked it and blew it out with the compreser tried to start it. only kicked over with the choke was reving pretty hard to? but as soon as u give it and turn of the trottle just splutters so i turn either the mixture or idle screw died to quick

so i put it all the way in and 2 screws out tried to start it nope so i just went one revalution at a time trying to start it til lik 10 out then gave up had smoko

the cdi prob got some mud in it and due to it being wet the cdi became live and cooked, a cdi can fail all over the place as in low revs, mid revs, high revs or just completely intermittent all thru the range and then just completely dead, all bikes we sell at work the cdi terminal is siliconed as a small amount of water or mud can just plain ruin your day.

Make sure all electrical connections are clean and that the carby is thoroughly cleaned out. Have you got the spark plug out yet? if not then go to a auto shop and get a spark plug socket to fit on a rench. When you get the spark plug out check the colour of it, but be careful not to break the plug in the engine whilst removing it, it does happen. Basically you need air, fuel and spark for it to run, so check that the engine is getting those three components. If it is and it doesn't run then it could mean something a little more challenging.
