125cc oils

Hey fella's,

Im doing an oil change on my fake thumpstar and have realised that there is two sump plugs on the bottom of the engine with oil in both and one of the plugs has a spring behind it?

Secondly. there seems to be two filler plugs on top including the lower one with the finger twist and dip stick. What is the other plug hole on the top left of the engine?

Do these two seperate holes require two different oils or the same?

I bought Mono grade oil but have not used it yet. is this the right oil.

What do you mean by multiple oils? ARe you meaning like a mixture?

Cuz the engines like to use mineral oil, as it doesnt interfere with the clutch and provides the engines with a longer life.

I use and recommend Castrol Activ 4T:
Castrol Activ 4T Motorcycle Oil - 15W-50, 4 Litre - Supercheap Auto Australia

For a 125cc engine you'll find that 800ml will be more than enough mate

Its the crome plug above the LIFAN logo on top of the engine

That plug shouldn't be undone. That side of the engine houses the electrics, stator, magneto, etc as labbelled by this picture:

The casing is clear to demonstrate. There is no oil in that side of the engine.

Its the other side of the engine that you want to undo the plug with the dipstick.

no, not a mixture. The engine has two filler plugs on top and two sump type plugs on the bottom. Are these two chambers connected, do they require different oils?

No Problems mate, the Chinese bikes dont often come with a helpful instruction manual lol so keep this site in mind for all your pit bike needs.

The bolt on the bottom of the engine on the kickstart side is the sump plug, the one on the other side is for adjusting the timing chain tensioner. The dipstick near the kickstart is where you fill it up with oil, i think the other spot your talking about on top of the head is the inlet valve cover(for adjusting inlet valve clearance), there is another on the bottom of the head for adjusting the exhaust valve.

So just to recap, the dipstick next to the kickstart for filling, the sump plug on the kickstart side for draining. You shouldn't need to touch the others at all for an oil change
