125cc pit bike problem

i bought my pitbike about 7 months ago the first gear is so **** compared to my mates bike i can go about 4 km/h in 1st and it sounds like the engine is reving to hard whats the problem or can it be changed or fixed

bigger front sprocket will sort that out... 16 or 17 teeth...
