I'd be cautious of those engines ... they have 125 cases with the puny mounting lugs ....... plus the alloy cylinder looks short . I emailed the seller to ask what bore x stroke they have and how long the cylinder is but he said he didn't know ???????

He reckons they're Lifans ???? ...... I smell a rat .......

so you think its not worth it aye?
How much all up for a stock 140cc lifan, and a hight rise cam ? with the heavy duty springs ? and a new cylinder? lol
sounds like some big bucks though...however i know it will go like crazy

Well , if you must know ...... I doubt very much if they're 140 cc ......... I bought a Lifan Super "125" off the same seller and instantly tore it down to check ..... it was STILL a 119.7 cc engine with a 52.4 bore x 55.5 stroke but it had 125 cc cast on the cylinder ....... then came the "138's" which were only a 127 cc ..... 54 bore x 55.5 stroke with 138 cc stamped on the cylinder ....... that "140" is most likely a Lifan "138" with a 56 bore x 55.5 mm stroke .......= 136.7 cc ....... that is IF it has a 56 mm bore !!!!!!!!!! The 56 is supposed to stand for the bore size .... but we've found that it can't be trusted ......ie 120 cc engines are 1P52FMI and 127's are 1P54FMI .........

We had previously bought a mojo Super 120 monster motor (156FMI) off him and it was a genuine 119.7 cc motor ...... 52.4 x 55.5 mm stroke with 120 cc cast on the cylinder . I pulled it down to port the head and check the bore size to see if it might have a 56 mm bore x 49 mm stroke (120.69 cc) ...... So we were pissed clean off to discover that the "125" we bought later was the same motor with smaller ports in the big valve head ......... at the time , I expected them to have the 52.4 mm bore but have a 57 mm stroked crank .... the same as a 125 GPX ......

I had also emailed him to ask if the 125's had a 57 mm crank before buying but he said he didn't know ........so I gambled and bit the dust .

You CAN buy a genuine 140 cc YX 140 that has a 56 mm bore x 57 mm stroke (140.39 cc) for $399 . Maylands has them ........ and they are NOT a Lifan ....... they're basically a GPX Jialing with a 56 mm bore , cam , strengthened gears and big valve head ........

140 to 146 bored GPX's are known to destroy clutch baskets and kickstart gears , plus break engine mount lugs and cases ..... maybe the YX140's are better ......... who knows ........

The only way you'll ever find out if the ebay engines are genuine is .... BUY one and tear it down ....... 'cause I can assure you ...... the sellers will play dumb to your questions .......

To tell you the truth I was nearly going to hit the button and buy one of those 140's off ebay when I read about the strengthened gears and race cam ..... UNTIL I took a really good look at the cylinder and engine mount lugs ..... and got a lame response from a seller who simply can't be bothered to use a school ruler to measure the cylinder length .......

I think I'll stick with my new Lifan 140 and fit a cam and springs to it ....... I like the thick mount lugs and ease of replacing kick start gears if I should break mine .......

Each to their own .......

You've received a question about your eBay item, Lifan 140cc 4ST race engine 1P56FMJ, pitpro pitbike

Hi , can you guarantee that these engines have a 59 mm stroked crank and how tall is the cylinder measured in mm ? Also , do they have a standard type flywheel or on inner rotor type ? Thanks - John .

You've received an answer to your question about item Lifan 140cc 4ST race engine 1P56FMJ, pitpro pitbike

hey john. i dont know or have the technical specifications of the engine so i cannot confirm the sizes you are asking about.all i can tell you is the engine has the model no 1p56fmj stamped on on the case. i do know lifan make a lot of differant engines with the same base model numbers but differant specs. i can see that the engine uses a standard flywheel setup though
