140xr crunches when kick it

gday fellas/ ladies

ive had my pitpro 140xr for a while now and about a month ago my dad tried to kick it over and there was a crack sound and now when i push down on the kickstarter it just clicks in sections, like its goin from one tooth to the other..

any ideas what can be done and how to set about it or have i skrewed the whole thing and just go buy a new engine?

That's what it's actually doing. You need a new kickstart gears. MPE sells them.

alrite ill have a look, is it as easy as takin off the cover and just taking the old one(s) (i got no i dea how many) off?

do a search there is some helpful info on how to start your bike, also DON"T ride till fixed with a good oil change, metal from the broken gear will mess your motor and box up good!

Its not def stuffed already, mine will do it now if its not started properly, but the teeth are still like new!

Search for the thread on out to start it @ TDC, and that should solve your problem, unless you have already stuffed your kickstart gears, than youll need a new set!

one last thing .. will it be obvious if it is the kickstarter gears which are screwed?

So much for the advertising that says YX140 gears are stronger than Lifan 140 gears ....

It's possible that what you can feel is clutch slip tho' .....
