3 big issues with the z engines is 1- engine kicks off the clutch. 2-clutch wabbles on main shaft due to the way it kicks. 3- the ignition timing is way to far advanced, ones we had fired at 37 degree btdc (should be 27 max). 1+3 = broken cases and kicker gears. 2+ high hp = destroyed cush drive, broken main clutch gear which can be catistrophic if not caught in time. there a $265 engine, what do you expect, they are throw away.

so wats the big deal with kicking of the clutch.. all start in any gear engines do including jap engines..
but yeah im not a fan of the clutch wobble, youd think they would of revised this by now..

do you want to put a pic to wat your saying cause maybe we have different ideas..
heres my pics

wat do you mean ..which are..? thts a pretty fuked up reply lol
Its not a reply , its a question , Einstein.....what your are comparing has absolutely nothing to do with the kickstart mechanism on a ***** bike!!...thats rediculous!!
As Hack stated , the different way of starting the daytona saves cases , no doubt, but I still have some problems to believe , that the quality control now on the engines is sooo much better, that they can ask for double the price???

lol who's comparing?
all i said was tht most start in any gear engines kick off the clutch, including jap bikes.

yea trail bike engines and 2 strokes, not true motorcross race machines. i agree mountain its hard to justify the $ difference but untill you have blown up dozens of yx engines and plenty of z155 engines it so nice to have an engine that is reliable and has a "real" cl tranny and "real" digital ignition that actually fires when its supposed to lol.

man wtf are you on about... how many yx and 155z's are in aus. now out of them how many have had the trouble your talking...

im just gona come out and say it here...

you dont have a fukn clue ..

you have so much wrong info in this thread its not funny...

oh well im over this thread now, you can keep your BS rolling..

lets hope i can stay out of here now...

wow...keep it cool Sean....he knows exactly what he´s talking about , trust me...he is only a bit overexited about the engine, because it finally last longer then the dozen of others they blew in the past...no need for name calling!!

i could maybe belive it if i saw the pics or some sort of proof of these dozen engines like im sure the daytonas are good but my 155z is good and i thrash it usually valve bouncin it faily easy (not trying to) just not used to my new gearing and still no breakages just broken hub but thats not part of my engine

I've been saying for years (multiple posts on the subject) that the idiot anal-log ignitions are too advanced and coupled with the crappy cast gear behind the clutch , something's bound to fail ...

you are funny :d :d i have been around long before you know.

i doubt tht mate, and the crap you type proves tht..

so wat is a true motorcross race machine...????lmao

and your compression ratio skills are about as good as NRG's

fark no.. but it seems your beef with YX's and 155z's are completely pitster related.

and mountain, theres no name calling going on. just voicing my opinion :)

look hackmunch, most of your info on here is good and helpful but there's also some tht makes you look like an idiot... iv only pointed out a couple..
(comp ratio) your teaching ppl the wrong thing man.. and the advertised comp ratio for a daytona 150 is so far off its not funny.

to give hack some credit... i have seen half of the motors fail in person, and all the rest of them in a pile in the basement. and almost half of them came from me lol.
he is not bs-ing here.
