Heyy
Well i seem to of have issues, besides mental issues:(
I am trying to wire my 2010 klx110 motor without using electric start! i have got everything to use it without electric start and there is just no spark! im not using a relay because apparantly you dont need to use if u dont want elec start! i am also trying to wire a 2 wire killswitch to the 4 wire plug witch 2 of the wires from the plug on the harness would be for elec start witch im not usin. i have tryed many different combinations to wire the killswitch and i am still not getting any spark from the coil???? ive seen the whip industries boys have theres wired to a 2 wire killswitch so i am also trying to do it. i thought that the killswitch not connected properly could cause the no spark but i tried testing the wires at the harness for the killswitch but it says theres no power towards the killswitch wires even when i kick it??? GRRRRHHHH i was hoping to have my new bike runnin by now but it seems like it will never be goin?? I really need alot of help please???

that gave me a headache reading that lot
it was like one big braaaaap!!

you shouldnt need to change any on the wiring after you remove the starter?
just take the starters' main wire off at the solenoid.
where was the kill switch wired before?

are you running a 5 pin cdi?
if so the the kill switch is run off the centre pin on the cdi,
then up to the switch and then out the other side of the switch to an earth point.(good bare metal one)

cheers, craig

Hey well the original klx electric start killswitch is a 4 pin but im tryin to wire a 2 wire killswitch like the whip boys did! Yes my cdi is a 5 wire but 2 wires are on one plug and 3 are on another beacause its a cdi with two plugs???

BUMP??
Anyone have any suggestions!!

oh well to use elec start i would have to spend a few more hundred dollars, and i dont really care about elec anyway!! i just like 2010+ motors cause they come with 4th and stronger bottomm end for stock:)

Ok ive tried everything, and this is just ****, still no f@#%ing spark:(
Anyone wanna buy me motor? Hah

What happens when you connect up the old kill switch ? and have you tried another spark plug ?

I dont have the original electric start stop switch thing:( caus ei only bought the parts i needed to use it not elec start:( grhhhhhhh na i havent tried another plug but its a brand new plug that came with the motor cause the motors has never been run:( i just want too sort it out! grhhhh

What setting do i put the meter on??? what do i test with it??

yust set it to any thing realy and find out wich one is putting out power and work from there i normaly cut my wireing loom and go from there

ok well ill have a look, but i dont think ill have any luck, hopefully i do though!! any other suggestions anyone??

are you checking the spark with the plug out of the motor ? are you sure its not a coil problem ? is it the KLX coil or the china coil ?

Heyy mate im checking it with the plug in the coil but plug out of the motor!! Its a china coil???? but it looks the same as the klx110 ones ive seen???

with kill switch disconnected it should pass spark, if it doesnt then the problem is elsewhere..

does the neutral safety switch control spark on a genuine klx setup!!!

maybe shoot some pics up on here of what your working with...

ill track down a kawa manual and see if i can sus it out

going by the diagram the gear position switch shouldnt be an issue.

http://www.tradebit.com/usr/ridered-atc-atv/pub/9003/10-11klx110_wiring.pdf

and going by the diagram your going to need to retain the rectifier as it powers the cdi, and you wont be able to bypass it as the rectifier will be cutting the voltage down to suit the cdi..

red wire from the rectifier also appears to be connected to the kill switch.. easily over come tho if you want to rewire the kill.. just splice one wire from kill switch to the black coil wire and the other to ground or bk/y (common harness ground)

and dont get fooled by the coil wires, they are opposite to china wiring..
ie: bk/y is usually power input to coil on a china but on yours its actually ground/earth.

see how ya go, i hope i havent confused myself or you but trying to explain it..

Ok im with you, kind off...................... hahaha
im a little confused on were to wire the 2 wires from new killswitch too, haha sorry im a little confused????
And also the wires going to the coil one is blk/y and one is black, and the coil has one green side and the other black?? which wire goes to the green side???
Thanks for helpin me out sean01!!
Cheers

just splice one wire from kill switch to the black coil wire and the other to ground or bk/y (common harness ground)

try the coil wires each way, but i think black is the hot side..(mind blank lol)

do the kill switch last, after you get spark..

hows the rest of your wiring??
