Hey dudes,

removing the electric start and all the associated parts with it on a BSE 250cc vertical motor (or link 250cc same deal) and ive got all the wiring traced and sorted. before i redo the loom the only thing i was after clarification on -

on the engine there is two wire looms coming out of it. one is 5x wires that run off to the CDI and other parts, then there is another green plug with 6 smaller wires on it. i dont actually recall if it was plugged in to begin with but i suspect not

any one know what this extra plugs purpose is?

you can see the two looms on this pic (that website doesnt mention its purpose in the wiring section either) http://www.hooperimports.com/prod_img/E2005M_1133575164.JPG

thanks in advance!
Glen :D

yeah i reckon so. if any one can confirm that. dont really want to have to take the cover off in case it ruins the gasket just to satisfy my curiosity :D

heres a pic of it anyways.

with the motor running, use a test light to see if there is power coming out of them... i'd say you're on the right track in thinking it's for a lighting circuit. these motors are used in a wide variety of applications, and i dont imagine they use a different loom from the engine for different bikes...
by the looks of the mud on the plug, doesnt look like it was plugged into anyting previously...

cool, gave it all a test and its for the gear shift, neutral light etc. kick start only loom is done and working :) much cleaner now :D
