I'm looking for some adjustable forks to replace the standard ones on my DHZ140. I blew the seals the first time I went riding at the new club I joined in Kilsyth. I know I can get Marzzochi's & Fastace brands from DHZ but am wondering if there are any other options around and what sort of money I would be looking at??

hey there! I live over the back of Kilsyth, can see the track from my house!
I'll be in the same boat soon. Pit Pro 125RR and looking for an upgrade. some run Fastace but I've heard they are terrible. Not sure about Marzocchi. these two seemt he most popular.

I may end up just getting my forks rebuilt to my weight. most seem to be very under sprung and too soft. new springs and oil would go a long way, and an experienced hand and head to rebuild them with knowledge

the maz & fastace are pritty much the only one's better than what you had on the bike before!

Adjustable Fastace 03 forks are a good option for an upgrade fork. But the spring rates are way too soft for anyone 40kg or heavier.Over the weekend we re-oiled and re-built our forks with 20wt oil and 10mm spacer in both legs. The damping is perfect now but the springs are still as soft as with all the travel being used up on small to deep whoops let alone landing a decent jump. The test riders and myself were giving the test bike/forks a beating at Pelican Point yesterday and I was needing springs with a rate of least 20lbs psi heavier [Iam a heavy ass 87kg !!]We are now looking at sourcing different a stiffer top spring for each fork leg,I will keep ya all posted..

are the fastace AS02 forks much different? and what air pressure do you recommend?

i wouldnt bother buying any knock off forks... they are not going to be any better than the crappy ones that come on the cheap bikes... i think fastace or marzocchi are the only options and go for $400-500 a set

For 66-70kg rider stock fastace are great.

G'day all. I run Fastace ASO'2. They had no oil in them from the factory. After putting 10wieght oil in them they are very plush. To get good bottoming resistance I just run 100 PSI in each fork leg. The caps are at the bottom of the forks. I weigh 68kg. For riders above 80kg probably would want heavey springs if your a fast rider.
Ride on.

Wow - thanks man for that info - its sometimes so hard to wade through all the ******** out there :D will be looking at getting some when the bank balance is a bit healthier :)
