Air nozzel to big for shock pump on AGB 29 Fork.

G'day all , I trying to fix a friends AGB 29 forks that have very slow rebound (to slow). I Pulled them down, them seem to be fast ace copies but no sign of oil in them, hence the dampning adjuster rod wont come out of the dampning rods. So oil can not get out. Not only that the air nozzel at end of fork is to big for shock pump so can not pump air in to see if this fix's rebound problem. I guess there must be an adapter tthis size, anybody seen one or know where to get one.. Has any body had any success fixing these AGB29 fast ace copies or am I wasting my time?

Thanks for the link mate. But It just went to there home page. Did not know german rode em. Not to worry. I went to a tie fitter today who had all sorts of adapters and none of them fit these air nozzels. crazy.

the forks cartridges are sealed, no oil comes out of them, you can't "easily" take the plungers out of the cartriges either, the only way to change the oil is the remove the adjuster rod (which will explode out if you have air in the bottom when you disassemble them) and put the oil in or out through there.

the pressure nipple at the bottom is a standard schrader sized valve,
same as on your car tyre, bike tyre ect, (or it should be or you might not even have a agb29, there is agb29 "copies" as well..)

any proper quality push bike shock pump will fit.

adding air to the rebound side will speed up the rebound a bit,
increasing the air too much on the compression side will make both the compression and rebound slower.

I suggest around 100-140psi on the rebound and 50-100psi on the compression side.

I changed the oil in my AGB29 forks to 2.5wt and it helped.. it still rebounds too slow though.

if the forks have dumped there oil and are too fast, then they are screwed, the fork is put together with C Clips that are not designed to be able to be removed, so repairing the fork is probably a lost cause.

Good to here you have given it a go. Believe me the air nozzels on this set are bigger than usual. Nothing fits them. I am mountainbike mechanic also with complete acess to pro workshop. These forks are screwed, but for a chick putting around their Ok. So ill just give em back to her as is. The orion really is a shit box. Sorry if you brought one.

Yeh I once was a mtb mechanic also,

i've rebuild a large number of marzocchi forks, some manitou and rock shocks as well.

agreed the forks on those bikes suck.

but for a $700 dirt bike.. I reckon they are not too bad.

given my MTB forks used to cost $2k... alone. (let alone the $8k bike)
and the bike didn't even have a motor.. LOL

you'll have to compare the agb29's forks to the forks that come on your dual suspension $149.00 push bike.. when you look at it like that, they are pretty impressive to even have anything inside them at all!
