Hey, I just bought an Atomik Nitrous 140 off e-bay, scored it for $800 including postage. I actually bid on a 'Bigfoot 125' but they were out of stock so they let me have the model up.

This is MY FIRST EVER bike, so I was just wondering what anybody has to say about them...

I've heard the Lifan engine is better ( This one has the YX)

other than that, it looks to be the same thing as a 'PitPro' or some of the other bikes available...

Cheers for any info... :)

If it's your first bike it'll be fine ...just keep checkin ...things will come loose

Welcome to miniriders

ya strip ya bike down and then reassemble with loctite on every bolt that will help stop the bolts comming loose for a while......lifan engines are more reliable but the YX motor has more mods available but as its your first bike im sure you will have very little problems just remember to start ya bike from top dead center.....it helps save ya kick start gears:D good luck with it and have a ball...

welcome to mini riders

bull, the lifan 150 is better then the yx150's
I believe the original question was asking about the 140cc, not 150cc. I have also heared bad things about the YX150cc, thats why I opted for the 140cc and leaves Lifans for dead.

nice bike
not bad bikes just a reputation for being well cheap chinas but i heard they still go hard
still the same engine as other brands (yx 140)
they look good too

good score ,there a good bike ,never riden 1 or owned 1 ,seen a few go tho

rear swing arm is avrg ,easy mod to fix ,get a ally swinger bolt it on

good first timer ,frame is good ,not a big jump bike

tyrs avg ,new set of kenda's will do ya fine

grips and bars avg ,tapers and grips are a must imo

STRONG DONK kick start gears are weak on these anly fault
my suggestion is

start your bike by bump start in 3rd till it looses up a lil then always start TOP dead center
never just keep kicking your bike to start it ,you just break the kick start gear

Welcome to MiniRiders enjoy your stay

Thanks everyone

Cheers fellas... well I'm glad to hear I haven't purchased a dud :p
I guess it's reasonable to expect a few problems here or there when buying such a cheap bike (compared to 3-5 grand for a proper dirt bike)...

My mate mentioned hand grips too, lol, the left one started slipping even just holding onto it standing still! I'm just gonna make sure I go easy running it in, and at least jumps aren't an issue as i'm a total newbie ha ha! I can't even pull a mono, so...:p

I've done a few things here and there with loctite, so I'll be pretty much set if I treat her nice and don't thrash that kickstart lever hey?

Maybe in a few months I'll be able to give some other newbie advice then:rolleyes:

may i hiijak this thread and ask how you kickstart with topdead center? how do u know?

search mate, there's allot of threads and info around here, search for a thread called something like "really bad kickback" it's full of good info.

but just quickly, kick your engine over slowly till you get to the compression, then slowly kick it til only JUST after the compression, raise the lever and give one hard kick all the way down. If you don't know where the compression is the take off the fly wheel cover and kick it till it's just past the T mark
