Haha yeh man, Its a harsh life, but some hero has to do it, and i thought to myself one day, i want to be that hero, no wait! I AM THAT HERO!, and from that day on, i was a hero.

Dealing with spam is part of managing a forum, there is no magic bullet to stop it entirely.

Not sure whether this forum can do it, but other forums allow you to specify a new user to enter some letters which have been randomly generated off of a graphic when signing up for their account. (im sure most would have seen these before).

If you implement something like that with this forum then you'll seriously reduce the bots as they cant read the graphic, therefore cant auto-signup.

Yeah image verification when registering would probably be a good idea. Most of the spam we are getting is not automated though. These are real people signing up and posting.

its bout itme some1 said somthin bout these damn spammers... well done bones!... i think u should b a hero like franky...lol... im sure the admins of miniriders r doin the best pplz so sit tight....well done again bones!

Whats wih all this SPAM ???

This site is getting over run by spam , everywhere i look i see porn sites, phone deals and wot not.

I dont see it on any of the other fourms i go on... must be 2 easy to register on this site, somthing needs to be done..

Maybe restrict first users to not be able to post the same day they register ?

any other real idea's pop them up, and maybe admin guys will help fix this problem...

just thought of another idea,

If possible restrict first post with any url tags in them.

I thought there was a something similar in place when this forum opened up? But was removed due to new members spamming to get their 10 posts up?

Hi mate, in a wierd kind of way, this is good signs for miniriders. It means the site is becoming more popular and spammers see this site as a good target to try and spam their products. I encourage you to report posts which are spam so we can take immediate action when something like this happens. It goes without saying, when you do see these spam threads, the worst thing that you can do is go onto click on their website. That's what they are trying to achieve! Miniriders will show as a referral to their site giving them more reason to want to spam us, the *******s! Thanks for the heads up it's great to see members wanting to see a better environment for everyone.

Cheers

I didn't seen this thread when i started one on this matter a few minutes ago, I think restricting first post users is probly needed, a simple thing like all first posts must not have a url tag and just dont let that post happen.

uchefamous is another abuser of our loved forums, just letting the admins know of the ppl responsable so you dont have to go hunting for them. if the admins could please let us know of their way to resolve the issue it would be greatly appreciated as im just interested to see what you come up with. just curious, did this have e-mail verification? i cant remember.

Cheers again, Tony.

mabye when some bot does a SPAM we could just PM the mod and he can delete it, seing so there is only a few every week.

some one could just give the link to the mod so they can delete them, just by private message because its only like 5 a week right?

I actually encourage you to report the post, which is the exclamation mark button at the top right of each post.

THIS IS STILL VALID( IF YOU SEE SPAM PLEASE REPORT IT TO A MOD SO WE CAN TAKE CARE OF IT AS REQUIRED)

Also if anyone sees members posting post after post(flaming/arguing/name calling) the only place this can take place is in GENERAL ~Off TOPIC~ these are to be reported as well if members are going BEYOND A JOKE and using threats such as VIOLENCE, SEXUAL REMARKS, ABUSIVE POSTS ETC.
MEMBERS HAVE BEEN WARNED AND IF THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE EACH OF THESE POSTS WILL BE A ONE (1) DAY BAN. five(5) POSTS MAYBE A MONTH.
