ok i just got a new back tyre as my old back tyre wouldnt seal properly, and the new 1 wont either like as the back rim was too big for the tyre, its sealed about 3/4s around, and the beed is like right down at the bottom of the rim on the other 1/4 so i have a big hump in my tyre, do i need a new back rim, and what would be better getting another heavy duty back rim with heavy duty spokes or a billet rear wheel.

thanks dan

i wouldnt use WD40 or CRC, use windex, spray and wipe or similar. it dries completely. WD40 or other lubricants will stay on the bead for ever, and cause the tyre to slip.

take a picture and post it so we can see what were working with mate.

its hard to tell by photo but u can see the top of the tyre is sitting a lot lower than the bottom

try riding around on it for abit and see if it pops out,ive had the same problem at work with a small tractor tyre so i drove on it at lowish pressures,10-15psi and it popped out.so give that a crack, hopefully your bodyweight and the bikes weight will be enough to pop it out.

yea ive tried that but no luck, my old tyre was the exact same aswell so it would have to be the rim, i was just seeing if any1 else has had this problem, thanks for your help tho

chances are though it could just be the tyre, does the rim look damaged in anyway?get another tyre and see what happens.

my kenda carlsbad tyre was like that and now i got a dunlop geomax and its the same? the rim has a couple dings and chunks taken out from changing tyres and ****, so i think ill just order a sm pro rim from ashspokedwheelz and lace it up myself it carnt be that hard? ive done my bmx wheels before and they cross over allot more so i should be right

you need to put around 60 - 70 psi to get it to seat with some lube on the tyre

yea yamaha put around 60 psi in it and it still wouldnt pop on ill try again tomorrow ill take the valve out let all the air out sope the bead up and then put plenty of air in, i hope it works, thanks
