i got an atomik 50cc. it come with electric start, and 12V battery, and 12V regulater ec.
now i put a tachometer on it and it has a backlight, i wired that up to the battery, and i also set it on key ignition ( when i turn the ignition key on the tacho lights up )

and i have 2 small halogen headlights on it that i bought from super cheap auto. with a on & off switch. wired that up to the battery aswell but not to key igniton, it has its own key.

but when i leave it over night the battery goes flat and i have to kickstart it and wait for the battery to charge or the lights to go really bright.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The battery will go flat for two reasons
(1) The battery is stuffed and wont hold a charge
** test by charging battery to full capacity and dissconnect it totally over night if it still has charge its reason 2 **
(2) Power is being drained from an electrical item such as the backlight on the tacho

to see if theres something draining the battery remove one battery terminal and use a light tester on the battery terminal and the terminal lead you just took off.
if there's a drain the light will light up..

hey in my atomic 125 it came with a battery and the acid which i put in but when i put it in it seems dead, i cant e-start the bike and the LED doesn't go on when i turn the ignition, does these batteries come charged or do they need to be charged? and how do u charge them if i just got the battery with the bike???

i have takn the back light wire off the tacho. i went for a ride charged it good. than overnight the same thing and i tried the thing with the test light?>?

I have heard some bikes dont isolate the battery when you turn the igition or kill switch off and a seperate battery isolator needs to be installed

how do you know if it has an ignition?

yeh there is a key. and a switch aswell

do you turn the key off? if not the battery will go flat.If you do id say the battery is stuffed

na i turn the key off . and it cant be its a brand new battery

im not sure about the volts i just go by how bright the lights are. all i do to charge it is go for a ride and it stays charged for a while. does anyone have any ideas to fix the problem.

Doesn't matter if the battery is brand new it can still be faulty and by the sounds of it you got a dud.

I would return it and get warranty.

I would also look at getting one of these if you don't want to have any battery problems every again:

Motobatt Batteries

Can't recommend them enough. Still haven't needed to charge mine and it's been a year.

i put a battery out of another bike in it. and it done the same thing

will do. what should it say on the multimeter. and what do i set it to??
