Righto, so my tb170 kit has turned up for my yx150 but it don't fit. I mean the piston wont fit between the head bolts, nothing lines up! ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
engine number is IP56FMJ-5. starting to get pissed!

With a bit of insight the gasket that come off it looks suspiciously like a lifan 150. WTF! FFFFFFFFFFARRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

when i saw :big dramas" i was expecting a bike wrapped around a tree or a blown up engine with gears on the ground.. check with the gusy your brought it off they prob grabbed the wrong one off the shelf

I dont think that block is a YX?? (Dont hold me to this though) the reason i say this is that looking at YX blocks they have 2 bolts that got though the cam chain side and the block you have currently only has 1.

Yeah man thats what the gaskets that came with it have. The old head has yx on it. The cases have IP56FMJ-5 on it. Google that and both yx150 and lifan come up. Maybe a bitsa?? Not happy jan haha.

i wonder if someone has fitted an early YX head to yours?

looks basically the same as my 150 lifan, IP56FMJ,
the barrels are a different casting,
and your oil cooler ports come out the side of the clutch cover, and are joined together via the transfer tube.

That part number seems to refer to both Lifan and YX motors Crap. I'm thinking My67 is on the money. I'm going home this arve to check mine now (fingers crossed) i should be right though being a 160...

ah man its doing my head in. looks like its a Daytona style yx150 because of the oil filter casing and head design? Don't know what that means but pretty sure there will be a tb170 kit for sale soon unless I can find a cheap bottom end

That sucks dude Maybe start checking the paper for crapped out local bikes and fingers crossed a yx will show up. No chance you can send the parts back?

ill do a bit of research first and see if anyone else knows what the go is. also I live in the bush, flat out having pitbikes let alone a yx150 bottom end haha. its from dhz I suppose I could ask if I need to

You have a CRF style head... The TB kits are KLX (if I'm not horrendously mistaken). YX released both CRF and KLX headed 150's. Pic of the head you ordered?

two heads side by side. I know they were different but I didn't have the engine pulled apart when I ordered. Just thought it was a yx150. ****ing china motors haha

Nooooooo, you must have the old skool yx150 bro, the yx 150 you want has the 60mm piston where yours has the 56mm piston, is this your engine, If so its the older style yx150,

this is the type the tb big bore gear fits,
