My chain came off while riding and now when i try put it back on it doesnt fit on the front sprocket because the the gap between the engine and sprocket is too small, anyone know what to do?

Sounds like you might need to open the chain up and feed it through..
But if it managed to come off, you should be able to get it back in?
 
undo the two bolts on the front sprocket, slide the sprocket of the countershaft, put the chain on it and re-install the sprocket with the chain on it. Or just take the stator cover off and put the chain on and re-install the stator cover
 
why not just undo the joiner link on the chain, feed the chain through past the front sprocket,
then refit the link again?
only need to use a pair of pliers,

then make sure you adjust the rear wheels' axle to get the correct tension on the chain so it wont come off again
