hey guys,

Have a chinese 250 and even going over smallish whoops it tends to bottom out. the reservoir on the shock leaks but on the bottom at the back it has a small clean spot from where i assume it hits the tyre.

now, is it possible to spin the shock so the reservoir points in, (dont have bike at my place sorry if its a stupid question) if not being as its leaking is it better to just go a reservoir-less shock? ive read fastace are good but any guidelines on buying? thanks in advance

if its the stock shock then the best thing to do would be buy a new fastace or dnm shock. it wont matter if you get a reservoir shock or not, just make sure you buy one the same length as your original fast ace are ok but dnm are a bit better and a bit more expensive. if money is no issue then grab a elka, there is a bloke on here selling a elka for 350 plus postage which is cheap as f@ck

yeah, but is your shock linkage? if so, buying one may be a little more expensive. post a up a pic , it'll help immensly :)

Not sure if you can really see but it's the only one I have.. Will have to wait till I pick it up from the brother in laws otherwise

Shocks are generally measured eye to eye yes?

Also at a similar price range is either gpx or Fastace better? Or not noticeably

its not linkage so you have a few options, the fastace shocks are good for what you pay but if you can afford the elka that is for sale on here then you should definitely buy that providing its the right length. you need to measure your shock bolt hole to bolt hole and find something as close to that length. shorter will lower the bum of your bike and longer would lift either is likely to cause excessive wear on your slider and possibly your swing arm

Considering 350 isn't far off what I paid for the bike I can't justify spending that much on 1 piece for it

I made a new shock for mine out of about 4 spare ones. Together they make a good one. I have an adjustable bottom so you can make it longer or shorter.

Looks to me you got a stock shock from what I can see. They are really crap and if ya reservoir is stuffed the shock ain't no good. Get a fast ace there cheap and once you ride it with one of these shocks you'll never look back. DONT replace it with a new stock one! There about $70 for the one you got and ya can pick up a good fastace for around $90 if you hunt around for one
