Convert from crf to lxr style?

Is it possible? With lxr seat,tank & Plastics?

u would hav to do some customizing 2 all the bits that the bolts go into

Thump has the same idea , so if he decides to try the conversion , he will be able to let you no what to do .

I have a couple pictures in my LXR review thread showing the differences in the 2 plastic types.

yeah im oretty sure the angle of the frame from under the seat to the head stem is more aggressive on the lxr...if you had a klx id probly say you were in for a chance...

yeah basically i'm just waiting on enough spare cash to purchase the parts, (seat, tank and plastics kit), then i'll be off to the shed with some flat steel, an angle grinder and the welder to try and make the lxr bodywork fit...
Will keep you posted as to how it goes...

if ya wanna hold off about a month or so, the china ttr model will be out. they run the same plastics. so you would be able to buy a frame and swinga and plastics at the cheap china prices...

They got compete Sets for $80 on Pitster Aus , if ya didnt no.

the china ones arent out yet as far as i know...iv searched for them in the usual places but found nothing...
and china CHP wont give me any prices or sell me any ttr items till after there canton fair or something.
they wont even sell me the linkage style swinga for crf frames till after the fair..

if you know of any apart from pitster, let us know

yeah i've been doing a bit of researching on it.. have found a dealer out of china for it, could have bought it, but got dicked around with bank transfer...

Already got a set of plastics, tank and seat lined up for a good price...
HOWEVER, i want YELLOW plastics, so far they only come in black or white... Gotta keep the Hurricane trend going in my shed.... So i might hold off til the colour choices expand, and the kits go for $50 on egay.. ha ha

So Lets say i decide to build a bike from ground up. Which im pretty keen on.

I could just buy a ttr frame, swinger and tank? then its just a matter of finding the rest of the parts?

What size suspension should i run? As i want it to be tall? around the size of the lxr?

Also from where could i buy the frame etc from
?

at this stage, as far as i know frames would only be available to take the TTR parts from Pitster Pro, or JJR in china...

Yer if you wanted it like the Lxr , you pretty much would have to buy the hole frame/swingarm/shock/tank/plastics .. and all you would need is forks... and engine..

But thats not really building it from scratch , so not much fun there.
