Buying a new bike tomorrow.
Wondering what people think between the new DHZ 160 and the X4R.
I have $2200 to spend and the revolution is out of the question.
If this has been covered before which im sure it has a million times please post links.
I used search and found nothing. Thanks people

I looked at the DHZ site about the V2 head and it says ill need a new piston aswell. Is this right?
How much is the power gain using this head?
Are the forks and shock on the 2 bikes similar in quality and performance?

hit the link i provided, youll see the upgrade options there..
the head would have to come with the piston... and @ the prices listed he must be keeping the original parts.. cause there cheap

pretty sure shocks are the same...

again look on the link and see the suspension then do the same for the X4r, but yeah im certain there the same shocks

oh and performance wise... it would eat a stock z175.

The V2 head kit for $450 does not come with the piston. To get the piston in the kit its $520. Thats a bummer. That sounded like a must have.

@ the prices listed he must be keeping the original parts.. cause there cheap

hi sean,
when i bought my dhz outlaw 160r, i got it with:

oko 26mm
pro tapers
did chain
uni filter

but they still sent me all the stock parts.

i thought they were going keep the stock parts too. because the upgrades where so cheap, but they just came in the box

yer i was talking to ken not long ago and i asked whats the difference between them and he ummed and arrghd for a bit and said there really isnt

the crf70 has better brakes

same rear shock

the only thing that Ken replaced on one for one of hes racers was the engine, rear shock and swingarm

but crf70 looks like it has completely different ergos to the x4r, i suggest you go down there and check em out in person also why your down there check out hes half built vinco down the back of the store i found it interesting to have a look at it very surpised he didnt like it

G'day pbk. thanks for your input.
I have checked both bikes out and I couldnt really split them in any way. I really like the crf70 style of bike. I may go to see ken on friday.see how things go. Ill ask him to look at his vinco for sure.

no problem mate

yer if i had to reconsider what bike to buy im really not sure.... more than likely your going to like either one, both will have thier pros and cons somewhere

i sort of lean slightly towards the crf70.. its something a but more different and as Tim said looks like its got more room to move around on and also just look at the pits at the next race most people have either x4r or lxr

ive actualy riden a few heavaly moddified crf 70s and so long as they have keep the geometry roughly the same then they will out handle the x4r because of the way the seat set up is makes a crazy difference

Hey nicko. I agree the x4r swinga looks the goods. seems each bike has the same amount of negatives and positives. The main down side for the dhz for me is the colours of the plastics and graphics and seems not much is out there for the crf70.

Tim.Its interesting getting your point of view been a x4r rider. Thanks very much for your input.
Im swinging with the dhz at the moment mainly because for the same money as the x4r ill have a much better upgraded bike with the v2.

pbk, i did notice at the cessnock races everything was x4r and lxr.and i got a good view of them both as they were flying past me on my 125.hehe

yeah you will get a lot more for your buck with that bike with a v2 it will fly . there is a fair bit out there for 70s grafix wise and plastics in black , white , red , green and yellow are what i have seen

couldnt agree more with all of above posts, im just about to purchase the v2 with the s35 cam in it, im VERY interested to see how it all goes

if you scrape up the extra cash , upgrade the swingarm on the Dhz70 to the x4r swinger . much better piece . but i think there worth a couple hunge .

Ken should give you some kind of deal with what you have mentioned if you ask to.

well its locked in. picking it up tomorrow. Getting the DHZ with the v2. Not sure what cam it comes with. pro tapers and the 26mm oko. Cant wait to get it and hope the head goes on easy with no dramas. Thanks to everyone for your input.

cam should be your option mate... s20 is standard still good tho... all v2 cams have 7 or 7.2mm lift

cant wait to hear what you think of it...
