almost ready to start cutting ;-) just need to find some damn time. one class got canceled so i turned the guides and milled the intake
getting a good secure jig is the only pain in the d@ck. if can be done either in the lathe via face plate or if you have a big enough 4 jaw or mill. i typically deck mine via mill cause jig time is less.
on a side note maybe you may be able to give me some knowledge. with these case heads it seems like i always have a problem with pitting and its driving me flipping nuts. i have tried acetone, using a carbide and digging a lil bit i have tried different stick all with the same results when im done welding it looks fine but once i get the head decked to were its back to factory alumiunum lil pock marks.
i was chatting to my mate who specializes in alloy welding he said oven the head to about 180 and he said try a certaion gas mixture wich welds smoother cant remeber what it was though lol . it will be fun i will up load pics as i go asweall
Looks great! But,,, did you get your chores done before playing? lol
Mathing-out the S35D overlap puts them that deep? I'll get a cam and rockers out to yo today. If it goes 64x53, It can run a Lifan rod with 14mm pin Wiseco, and you can cut 3mm from the deck if needed. 66x51, same deal, 100mmx13 rod and a 3mm slice, or 97 and no cut. Or, since you know the number to JE... What about cutting the bore size up in to the chamber and moving the ring pack down a bit? I'd hate to add crevice volume, but putting piston above deck is no fuzz. 67x49.5 plays ok, if that Tak can have it's pin hole opened, or use a Lifan 107 crank. Kurlon has broke a couple, but with crank-mount clutch.
It makes my jumblies tingly? lol. Looks great! I like the tub, being a big quench fan. We'll have to see how deep the notches get, before thinking of bigger valves. Maybe even re-grind a 25D for more lift, to keep the curve wide, if it ends up on the oval. Rough idea on chamber volume, yet?
Jesus what is that out of a 11litre Cummins or something
Perfect, as I've decided on a little bigger bore.
