So, I'm hoping someone can help..

I recently decided to get rid of my electric start gear and was all fine until I hit a little snag. I can't get the flywheel (I think it is) off.. I bought a puller, doesn't fit on to it. I've got all the stuff I need to switch it over to kick start only.. but just need to get this off.

ok you need an electric start engine magneto puller...

also you may have a bit of trouble with the conversion.. mainly the magneto(flywheel) cover wont seal properly on the engine also you might find some bolts/bolts are different..

also i notice you have a top mount starter motor, from memory these are part of the left side engine case arent they? and not removable..

whats the main reason you want to convert it?
most people just delete the starter motor and make a plate to block the hole off

That makes sense, will get on that. Any idea where I'd get one from, or what size etc?

I've got a new inner case and flywheel cover so that should do the trick I think. Didn't think about the bolts being different lengths.. fingers crossed I guess.

Did it for shits and giggs really, this is the first engine I've attempted to pull apart so it's just a bit of fun.

the magneto puller should be found on ebay mate..

and yeah see how ya go.. at the worst you just re-assemble it back to standard if it doesnt work out but learn a shtload along the way..

yeah I did this a while back to a 50cc motor...

You'll have to get these parts from a non electric start motor..

1, Left side gearbox case
2, Full stator a rotor setup
3, Stator caver
4, Bolts for the left side case and also bolts for stator cover

Once you have these parts it's a simple swap out...

depending what motor size you have and what size the motor is you get that parts from you may also need to swap out the two long studs that the barrel and head slide down on...

fairly sure that was all that was needed...

If your not going to used the old rotor anymore you can always just put a large screw driver behind it and apply pressure to the rear of the rotor and then hit around the outside edge of it and it will pop off.. Just work around it a little at a time... I wouldn't recommend doing this as it will stuff the rotor but it will get it off...
