G'day guys, first of all id like to Hi to the forum members this being my first post here and a thankyou to all the moderators and admins who created this website.

Im making the move from my much loved days of DH mountainbiking to pit bike riding, mainly due to the vast ammount of time i spend at mates farms.

I recently purchased a cheap(but lets hope hi quality lol) 125cc pitty off ebay to test the sport out. As i understand it, there are a number of measures that should be carried out before riding the bike and after/during run in. These measures seem to be specific to each bike so would like to get your tips and tricks for my paticular bike.If the web link doesn't work, the bike features a 2008 Ducar 125cc.

Please keep your replies constructive, your advice is greatly appreciated
Cheers

welcome to the forum!

its pretty much the same for most bikes, when u get the bike it will be in a frame and need some minor assebly (front wheel, handle bars ect.) once u have put it together u should go over the bike and tighten all the bolts and locktight them if u want. then u should check the chain tension, and make sure everything works properly eg. brakes. then u sholud change the oil to a good mineral based oil, and then u can ride it!

Cheers for the speedy reply, waiting for the delivery guy is killing me :D .
Should i run it in with the oil that comes with it? and how do i run it in safely? just low revs?.

nah the oil that is in it is basicaly just to stop the motor from rusting while its sitting in the warehouse, replace it beforr u even start it for the first time!

as for running in, pretty much just ride it like u normaly would, dont baby it or anything!

Wow...This thread helps me too...I just took mine out for the first ride today...I just ran the oil that came with it. I will definitely go change the oil befor the next ride. I put about 30 min. on it today, but I hope it's O.K?!?! Thanx for the tip guys!
