I got my mate to run next to me in his commodore while i flat knackered me Orion AGB-29 along. I weigh 75kgs and he got me going about 70 - 75. i was bloody pleased with that! Although now i put my 14 tooth on the front i doubt i would get 65 lol, mad bottom end balls now but!

this post has been edited accordingly..

test 'was' conducted on a closed circuit........

has anyone else ever done this, and what were your results and for what bike

agreed... your post will be edited accordingly... behavious like that isnt condoned here at miniriders.. sorry to burst your bubble...
i wasnt as cheap as 'get a mate to drive next to me' and i put a speedo on mine...

I did this, got to 90. Im 50kg, 140cc engine, 37 tooth rear sprocket. Was reving the shit out of the bike! Theres a video on youtube of a guy on a 125 and he gets to 85.

yer thanks foolspeed... i was on a closed circuit. :D, yes it was cheap but it was a spur of the moment thing so yer no need for a speedo.. a taco would interest me but!?

i saw oil thermometers that scew into the dipstick hole today :)

there are a few good hour meters available that will give you how long the bike has been running and a built in RPM guage... a multimeter may also do the same idea.. but i dunno exactly how to set things up.. id guess one from the plug to the meter, to an earth, clueless on multimeter setting though..

your kidding arnt you? have you ever looked at a harley davidson!? 95% of the custom jobs have them! do you REALLY need to know how hot your oil gets!?? i can only see it being of help if the level was low, meaning the temp would rise dramatically, probably to late for by the time you realise your low on oil, check your flashy thermostat get back to the scrut. area, top up... donks dunked.... game over.. RESTART.... sorrry.. your all out of KREDIT...

Yeah I remember there was a thread on speedo's, theres one that works, most others are effected by the magneto.

my suzuki trail hopper with a lifan 138cc got to 81mph on the race track

when i had a pb 3 years ago, i got it up to 70 kph with standard gearing! i wasnt going down a hill though although i was cheating because i was streaming behind a van :p

watch this space... Speed testing the Z this weekend
(edit) using an ungazetted road for legal reasons before anyone panics and no im not just saying that, its a road accesable to 4x4s only at each end but has flat smooth sections in between

yeah i did 90km on my atomik AGB-29 was very rattle like, & i lost a few bolts that day too lol

there is a dirt trail that goes along near a straight road where i use to live & it's a 80zone & i could over take the cars on the way home from work
