Hey everyone. After seeing my friends having way to good a time on their mini bikes I decided I needed to get in on the action and have just purchased a 2008 Pitpro 110cc bike. I've have done a search on this website regarding the running in of the engine and notice there a quite a few opinions on this subject.

After reading numerous posts I've decided to go with the method of taking the china oil out straight away, but am a bit confused with the mineral / semi-synthetic oils etc. All I wanna know is which oil I need to put in first to run the thing in, how many tanks I should do this with, then what oil I need to change to once the engine is run in and roughly how often you should change it.

Sorry if this sounds like the same questions you's have been asked over and over again but I am female, no more need be said!

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. :)

Dont change the oil just yet you should run it with the oil it came with for about 10-30mins to get rid of all the crap in the engine and then change it to a 20W50 mineral oil. I use Motul 1000 20W50 mineral oil

I still have the origional oil in my bike after about 120 laps at archerfield motard track + a day at Blackduckvalley. Maybe she's run in now.

As for what oil - all natural all the way in my experience.

dont do that^^, change the oil straight away to a mineral based 10w40 or 15w50, motul 1000 will be fine. just ask the local motorbike shop and they should be able to help you! then ride the bike for an hour or 2 then change the oil again. then again after a few more hours. after that you should be getting the idea and u just change it when its getting dirty

welcome to the site by the way!!

good to see a chick gettin into riding
and welcome to our forums i would imagine they will be very handy for you in the future (with info of cause)
my advise is not to listen to anything else in this thread because as you said there are so many different opinions
so to make it simple and easy for you this is what you do
You go to your nearest moto shop or shell servo and ask for 4 stroke oil
now just for the hell of it replace the oil now
then replace the oil after every 3 tanks of fuel from then on that should be good enough
you will need to clean your air filter regulary and maybe get it serviced by a guru after a while
if you do that you should be fine

if you have anymore questions dont hesitate to ask

and have fun

yep go with that and you'll be sweet to ride for a long time.
personally i go for 15W 50 mineral oil. Mineral is the best for running in a bike as its a bit thicker and creates a good seal on the engine components, after that if you wish u can change to synthetic or keep using mineral. yep as the guys have said for the first few runs change it a few times just to get all the muck out of the engine from the machining process.

when the engine feels 'loser' you can consider it ready to thrash

^^^i like this bloke already, knowing the difference between a rider and someone who can operate a bike counts highly in my book

Thanks heaps guys, thats helped make things easier for me. Can't wait to get on it, should be arriving on Tuesday. Giddy up.
