was wondering any have a piggyback elka shock , ( CRF50 )
im trying to get it set up right,
cause it was blown i put preload right back to the res, but its been rebuilt, but seems abit hard, not like a fox float , well fox float is air but yeah.
so what do use suggest with the preload and rebound / compression

the black knob is the rebound right ? and is that gold flat head the compression.
saw it on bbr when they setting up there elka.

im only 65kg if that helps ha,

heres a video on what bbr said to try help get setup right,
is that what use would do,
much appreciate the help
cheers

Hey!

Yeah mine is probably pretty much rebuilt the same as yours because its from Matt at HRI.

When I 1st got mine it was way too hard for me so I wound up the Preload Ring further up the thread, closer to the Res but not so its on the last thread.

The Compression is the Black Knob on the Res and the Rebound is the Gold Flat Head.

What I did with mine was 1st put my Bike up on a stand so the back wheel was off the ground then I wound out the Preload closer to the Res.

Then I just set the Compression and Rebound in the Middle Setting. Mine still isnt as good as it could be because I still have to fiddle around with my Compression and Rebound which are still in the Middle Setting. But just wounding out the Preload helps Heaps!

Cant watch the BBR Vid because my Internet i sh*t but will as soon as the Speed picks up haha.

BUT Download the Elka Shock Manual and that will give you a good idea of whats going on and it tells you some Good Info about the Shock!

Download it at the bottom of this Page "Owner's Manual":

No Problem!

Yeah Preload is the 1st thing to adjust Ive noticed, well it changes the way the shock feels the most haha.

Yeah seeing Andy would be a good idea. He should be able to get it nice for you!

Nope, no faults at all :) Just need to fine tune it haha then she should be SWEET

yeah, i read that info you gave me, it helps alot,
i never knew that gold flat head was compression until i read that and saw the bbr video.
thanks alot mate.

crf 50 + elka = death not the best of the elka products horrible shock to adjust and set up
WHAT ????...you obviously know zipp about shocks:p

plus they do this to you as well
Einstein...you cranked the bolts up like crazy ...of course then every shock will break..there you have your reason why they didn't warranty the thing !

yeah its bent and split all from one jump wouldnt even give me waranty on it lol the klx elkas are good thoug

crf50 and klx are the same...material and system..so better get your facts straight before come up strong here:cool:

actualy i didnt have them wound right up as i dont like my shcoks rock hard and there is a big difference betwen the way the klx style shock is made and the crf style take a look you geniuse and you will notice it . elka shocks are no were near as good as a fox float i would recomend guys getting an ishock over an elka crf one as the ishocks are easy to set and maintain , even the old fast ace crf style ones hold up better

my elka going sweet nothing wrong with it,
few people i know say there better then fox alot as their got more settings to adjust etc...
but i guess everyone has there own opinion,

:p:p:p:p...that says it all...no commend...you made my weekend,Boy!!:D:D

what the elkas are no were near as good as fox floats , i had two fox shoxs and found they had a lot more adjustment then the elka as you can fully set them at different psi and then you have every other adjustment to never bottowed out my fox but did my elka and my old ishock never did the old fast ace though lol

hey mate,
would you be able to measure your rear suspension, like without any weight on it , measure from bottom of swingarm to the fender or whatever use normally measure it haha,
abit hard to describe it on here lol.
i just got bike back and yeah going to play around with it and yeah,
cheers
