Hey guys...I bought a new oil cooler for my bike...but i cant seem to find where the two ducts are meant to go into...Please help

you cant put oil coolers on all engines i dont think well maybe u can but alot of stuffing around
 
installing oil cooler loncin 125

After completely cooking my loncin 125cc I have worked out it really does need a oil cooler. I have heard stories about the head plate adaptors (that i can't find for sale in OZ) only cooling the oil to head. Some say is not enough.
Has anyone gone to the troble of modifiying the clutch cover housing to take a oil cooler like on some of the lifan engines.
I'm keen to pull the clutch cover off and give it a go, just want to know your thoughts on the subject.

You buy a cooler with short lines to suit those plates from dirtbikes online on ebay . The coolers come supplied with all the hose connection bolts and washers to suit the adaptor plates . The one I won off them is slightly twisted but it was only $20 + postage ... LOL :

Cactus Jack , i have bought the exact same one for around same price. But i thin ki still need to buy the adapter plate.

I think you'll find the answer to your question in my first post . And just like everyone else , you'll have to constantly search ebay , then when one shows up ..... you'll have to scratch , claw and fight with everyone else like a flock of starving chooks in a coupe ............. getting tossed one bread crumb at a time ..... :p

heheh, how do i now which one is the right one for my bike?? Sorry im kinda new to this stuff.
 
The top two holes on Ducar , Loncin , and Lifan cam end plates are spaced 66 mm apart centre to centre and the diagonal measurement from each top bolt to the cam centre bolt is 40 mm c to c ..... So the 3 bolt holes form a triangle that is 66 mm at the base and 40 mm on either side . The apex to base measurement is 23 mm c to c .

Measure your bolt hole spacings to ensure they're the same as above and a Jialing or Honda end plate should fit too ( according to US sellers) but I'd email the seller you choose anyway to make sure . It helps if you can give them the spacing distances . The ONLY other thing you need to watch is how far the spigot sticks out on your stock Ducar cam end plate ..... longer spigots on adaptor plates can be reduce by carefully filing them down to the same height as your stocker ..... the spigot could possibly limit cam walk and end float .

No matter what you read on forums ..... ALWAYS double check yourself ... then check with potential sellers ..... I'd steer clear of "I dunno" sellers ... :p

I actually measured the bolt spacings of all 3 types of engines stated above since I've got them all here .

I just had a quick look at my loncin head and as far as i can see lubrication to the head goes as followed (correct me if im wrong)---- Up around the two head studs (there is about 1/2 a mm clearance between the stud and the stud hole) to the rocker arm shafts and comes out a hole in the rocker arm and lubricates the cam and then splash lubricates everything else, then it runs back to the sump via a drain back hole.

Now how can you tap an oil feed to the oil cooler into that cam end plate, then tap the oil cooler return also onto the cam end plate? Both those holes are under oil pressure, you will have no flow through the cooler, and because you are not tapping the feeds inline it will do stuff all.
I hope someone understands what i just wrote lol
 
heres a little diagram i did, iam really interested to know if the oil does indeed take this path as an oil cooler would do nothing at all.

i think that you have missunderstood the picture from themountain the oil feeds up the head bolts then to the cam shaft then to the sump when fitting a cooler plate the oil comes up the head stud trough the cooler and then to the camshaft.
you senior members may have to clarify this
this is the way how i see it acording to the picture from the mountain
 
You cant just go out and buy n oil cooler n then stick it on you engine.. you need to have the must have the to bolts for the oil cooler to hook onto other wise dont bother.. waste of time playn around by time you finish yod wish you had just bought an oil cooled bike
