ok you guys heres a design that i have found on the net.

it is fairly simple to make and cheap. i did it for bout $13.

the hardest part would be trying to figure how to keep it up with out putting that bolt thing in, but if your a good welder then it'll only take an hour if that.
 
Sheepy my man. Those diagrams are awesome!! I was looking for a little project to refine my welding skills a bit since I haven't done it in ages. This will do the job just nicely.

whats wrong with a milk crate and some bricks? thumpies only weigh like 80kg max... otherwise, A+ for effort;)

my challenge is making a stand for my 650...

lets see...i gotta acces the sump and screen, clear the exhaust pipe, etc etc
and it weighs about 170kg. less than 6 inches ground clearance... now i made the bracket to hold on to the existing lugs, but now...now i gotta make the lifter. using bricks and a jack is a bit...scary:)... AND:eek: it has to be stable...bricks definitely arent. nice to be able to pull both wheels off when you come to tyre changes etc...
