Hey, I need to open the brake pad things on my Pitpro so I can get the front wheel on. How can I get them open?

Here's a pic of what I mean.

Thanks.

What does that mean and how do you do it?

Nah, I didn't but that's what has happened. I just got it back from Pitpro yesterday and it was like that, so they must have done it.

How can I get it out? I'm sure it can't be that hard.

yeah it is that hard... the hydrolic will lock there, best to try a screw driver to get them open & see if they will move, but i think you looking at a complete re-bleed to fix that problem. I take it back to pitpro & make those idiots fix it & then never go there again

either bleed the breaks. Or get a pair of liek plyers and force the pads backwards

Note: If damage is done dont blame me

I'm not sending it back to Pitpro. They're in Melbourne and I'm in Canberra. I just did that and got it back yesterday.

pumba, what do you mean by force the pads backwards?

Easy fix mate, just lever them apart with a screwdriver. Ive had to do this many times

yeh use screwy it only takes a little bit of jiggling and mucking around but youll be riding before yo know it

Got it! Used a screwdriver and got it open. Bike is up and running!

Thanks guys.

stuff all that just undo the lid of the brake fluid to remove the pressure lock. the fluid is in that little container near your throttle and leave it open be careful not to spill.

Take the pads out which will reveal your pistons and then you can clamp them back if you brake system is air tight which it should be then you wont be able to reset the piston without taking the top off the brake fluid
