Get it sandblasted and painted in 2 pac

or blasted and powdercoated for a longer lasting finish.

or powder coated.

But if you don't have access to a sand blaster and want to do it your self then (if the current paint is still good) sand it just to rough it up and smooth out and bumps. The smoother it is the better the result, then head down to your local paint shop and tell what your gonna do, they will help you out from there on, i.e. what paint to use and thinners etc. Do you have acces to and painting equipment e.g. pressure pots or spray guns?

I just used a rattle can for mine to make it cheap and it turned out fine, but if your looking for a really good seamless shiny finish then I'd suggest doing it the proper way.

i got the painting attachment for the air compressor but ill rather take it to a power coating shop, how much do you think it will cost?

im guessing around $20-$25 for blasting, and about $40-$60 to powdercoat
all depends on how involved/intricate the frame is.

and shop around for the best prices too, or ask for a recommended shop in your area

Not sure how fussy they are but paint stripper won't remove all of it unless you do lots of coats and lots of peeling the paint off. It should also be cleaned after. Other wise just pay them to do it. Much easier.

the powder wont flow/stick too well to something that isnt sand blasted either.

Best paint

Powder coating first, two pack second but at the end of the day it all comes down to the prep of the frame spend the extra time prepping and priming it.

I've seen a couple of people paint their frames with kill rust enamel, is it a lasting finish?

Best paint is whatever Super cheap auto has in a can. $2 bucks a pop, sweet. They have purple too, mmm

killrust enamel is ok, $12.50 a can when Supercheap has it on sale.
make sure it is at least a week old before you spill petrol on it, otherwise it will fry up and peel off.
also the gloss fades quickly, unless it is polished and waxed once a month

VHT make some decent paint too, their Barrel Case paints are chemical resistant too,
around $15 a can

Thats stoneshield, dont use that.

Just use their 2 dollar stuff. I've used it on steering wheels, car rims, all sorts of stuff, sticks like s**t to a blanket
