This is my first post; so if I break any rules or this is the wrong spot, my apologies = )

I bought a Orion 125cc pit bike, and being an ex bmx racer and freestyle rider, and also a past of motocross I wanted to get it for jumping and what not.

Thing is, it feels like im going to fly over the bars my center of gravity is SOOO low, so my question is do alot of you guys get new bars for it that are taller to allow a more natural feel?

I have a pair of S&M Slam Bars I could put on, but wanted the opinion of some real riders and jumpers first.

Heres a picture if anyone wants to see what im talking about:

you've got the wrong bars lol.. Everyone should get Pro Taper SE XR50 bend bars.. I just got a pair last friday.. took bike to the track today for a spin on em, FANTASTIC!! The bars are great..

Most people would agree with me.

Haha, thats what I was thinking it felt so unnatural! I will try to find a pair of those bars, maybe that will make jumping on it feel better cause thats REALLY what I am interested in.

Any other tips on that bike? Or just pit bike riding or jumping in general?

Your bikes an AGB-29, Im pretty sure.. Basically an Atomik ProX.

Dude lol.. I'd try to help you right now but im so tired its not funny.. Ill edit this post tomorrow with some tips

you can go pro tapers but if you want a set of bars that are a bit taller go for renthal mini bars they have a little bit more hight

if your going to jump on it i say replace the rear shock there weak as an can snap
also a good tip if you dont want to loose bolts every time you ride get some loctite an locktite every bolt

i don't mean to be a downer
but send your bike back where you got it from
get your money back
save a bit more coin
and go and buy a decent bike
motovert, mso, pitster,
they are much more reliable and safer to ride imo
even pitpro's are better than what you got and they're about the same price
with better ergo's off the shelf

but if you have to keep the orion taper are the way to go just don't pay to much for them as most do
(u can get 'em for about $70)
change the rear shock out put better springs in the front (thats even if you can get ,em i'm not sure
also as divy said loctite rulz
so if you put decent rear shock and front springs in to the orion
you've spent $500 plus and with all the money you've spentpn the orionyou would have had enough coin to buy the top of the ine pitpro

you maybe shoulda done some research before you forked out all that coin ha
sorry to be bearer of bad new;s

imo sorry to be a downer

have fun riden l8tr

If you want to make it trick get a high foam seat and cut your back fender a bit

mso's aren't sold in USA!
agb29's (proX's) are a great bike.

its the newer agb29 ,the bike is actually preety good for value and with a few mods it can take anything you can throw at it with in reason so make sure you eventually get these mods done:
ENGINE
-uni angled air filter to help make the machine breath better the stock filters can be rather restrictive ($29)
-Nutlock them bolts especially the engine mounts etc ($9.95)
-get rid of those very gay looking radiator fins ,they have no purpose other than looking shit and adding weight
-change the oil to motorex ($15)or mobile(7.95) 4t semi sythetic(they have the best results in mini thumpers)
-polish the intake manifold so that all the ruff castings are smoothed out

Chasis
-Pro taper klx/drz 110 bends for a slightly lower bar than the xr50's ($84.95)
-Flat seat and gripper cover ,buy the klx110 red barron seat foam and the gripper cover should set ya back around $110
-new grips ,go the sdg dual compound grips from ballards which includes blister busters ($22) or go some other some dual compound grips
-New levers ,the stock ones a pure shit and will snap no worries replace them with m.c.s cr shorty clutch and perch and front brake lever ($20)(take stock front brake lever into shop though to make sure its right) .Then put teflon (plumbers tape) under the perches and do the bolts up so that there tight enough but you can still move them this preventing lever brakage but make sure the bolts have plenty of nutlock on em so they don't viabrate out
-Cut the stand mount off if you dont use the stand thus saving significant wieght and balancing out the bikes wieghts

COSMETICS
this is just incase you want your ride to look good
-drz 110 polisport tank shrouds ($60)(yellow or black) so that your bike looks like a klx110
-A decent drz110 graphics kit will make the bike look so good

yeh but overall the bike is preety decent

Thanks allot for all the tips, I just bought the Pro Taper bars yesterday, ( http://chrisstockton.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/06-23-07_1718.jpg ) I still am having trouble getting use to jumping on these bikes the form and everything is allot different then bmx bikes.

I noticed in CRANKIN's gallery he does not really stand up straight, but just kind of crouch, and most pictures I have seen seems like this is the style. I will have to keep that in mind when trying to jump. I got a place I went to with a 8 foot deep ditch, goes down then up, I launched out of it a little just feels a lil strange, I got at most a foot of air and almost looped out once :p The deceleration if I stand up to high makes me almost go over my bars when I land lol.

These things are a MAJOR blast, I just have to get use to the different style it takes to ride them.

unit mx: thanks for that large list, ill start working down it :p

A motorcycle is much heavier than a bmx bike and its easy to nose-dive if you're unexperienced, especially with the type of pit bike you have. Stand up and make sure you rev it on the ramp, as if you were going to do a wheelie so the front end is a bit higher than the back when you leave the ramp.

Pro Tapers arent the only choice, you could go for TAG or Renthal, Renthal are now covered by a one year warranty aswell, if you bend them they replace them.

Yeah I agree with flarry jumps aren't very hard once you get used to them.

When you hit the lip of a jump give the throttle a quick flick and it stops you from nose diving aswell as giving you a boost.

You could try sitting down jumps but practice on really small jumps first.

This is know as, "chopping" the throttle...
