hey guys , i put a new irk into my dmx 125cc , it ran fine . a bit harder to start and easier to stall but more agressive . i serviced it and then took it out for a test run , went around the corner and it started to splurr and loose power and then splutter again and then died. What could it be cause im over this chinise rubbish . and then i started it a couple of days later and it started then spluttered then eventually died, could it be a coil pack??? . sick of these things so much i went out brought myself a cr125 :)
Thanks guys

Pull the cover off, at a guess you may find the nut has come off the stator. That would be where i'd start looking.

There junk mate, I would not be surprised if the cdi has **** itself or the coil pack has died on the stator plate, id get the standard outer rotor kit for it and be done with the irk. But the irks that come on the yx150 with black cdi are more reliable, must be the quality of the materials used during production.

yep thats why il fix it and go with my 2 stroke

but it started also the next day but spluttered and died ? , so can it be the coil pack or na?

Mate when i put in my new stator I didn't do the nut up tight enough... Anway rode round for a few hours, then launched a few jumps, on abuot the 3rd or 4th jump the bike just died. Anyway managed to kick it back over again and it ran for about 30secs then died again. Kicked a few more times fired up for another 30secs then died. anyway removed the stator cover to find the nut from the stator foating around in the casing, which in turn was throwing out the timing (among other things) which in turn gave me the symptons you mentioned above. But yea could be something else but thats where i'd start.

could be the stator coil or ignition coil.. when there bad they can become unstable when they heat up...

but yeah the red cdi's on the irk's are poo..

change the ignition coil and see if not then throw the irk in the bin and replace it with a standard unit or outer rotor kit..
