You cant just swap the tank, seat etc or does it physically not fit the frame?

I'm not sure what Nitrous you were playing with, I sure can't fully compress my forks by hand and despite some fair thrashings, nothing has fallen apart. I understand if you un-boxed the bike, bolted it together with no grease/locktite the thing would explode, but I haven't had a problem with mine... Either way, there are much better bikes around but not for $600-700. Did I mention that he should be on the lookout for a Nitrous mid size too? ;)

And in theme with the title, can you please reveal which company you work for Ed? and how much the HSR resembles a certain bike your company sells? :p

Wow! Some people really dislike the little Nitrous and others seem to love em. IF I choose to go Atomik I'll keep you all in the loop of how it goes. Since we'll be buying two bikes it'll be interesting to see how they go against each other reliability wise

Whats the story here???

I'm just stirring him, he works for Ciniworx :)

Very knowledgeable bloke too, not sure why he's so keen to bash Atomik. I guess bad experiences tend to stick in your mind and he's had one or ten.

Excuse my ignorance but I don't really see what can go wrong? If the engine is OK then spending a few hundred bucks tiding the bike up makes sense... Especially if the bike only costs $600 in the first place. I mean the closest equivalent to the nitrous that I can see is around $1500 or $2000. If I really enjoy it and want to get into the racing side of things then I'd upgrade suspension etc.... Am I wrong?

coolie is coolie nothing but , he kicks ass and takes names ,that's coolies game

for a cheap sh!tter,, nitrous,, but there are many better bikes and this forum has covered em all
there's an answer to your question in your back pocket , called a wallet ,

what fills it will determine your ride , nothing more nothing less ,

this is getting old BTW

HSR160 is $2000. To me it just seems like a Atomik Nitrous160 with KLX plastics on it.

I'm still leaning more towards the nitrous and upgrading parts when I please/when they fall off.

atomik as absolute entry level everything. non adjustable suspension. apart from spring tension on the shock and oil level in the forks..

hsr160/dhz outlaw race spec bikes already have the upgraded fully adjustable suspension as well as many other upgraded bits that the atomik doesnt have..

just remember that you going to need slicks and at least a new front wheel for each bike, so buying the dhz motard bike just makes sense...

only thing id personally buy an atomik 160 bike for would be the engine, the rest i would sell off..

anyways it your cash, im sure you will buy what suites your pocket..

have fun with what ever bike you buy..

Thanks for the replies guys.

I understand that with the Atomik you're pretty much just buying the engine. The plan is to eventually buy new bars, levers, kickstart, etc etc.

Would a decently set up Atomik YX160cc keep up with some of the other mini motards on the track at archerfield?

Also what sort of service intervals does the bike need and after how many hours should I be considering rebuilding the engine? Please keep in mind I do plan on lovingly thrashing my bike... If that makes sense

how do think the 110cc engine? i will get one. how many hours costed to rebuild the engine compared with YX160cc, something different?

Oh yeah, woops... Sorry, had my wires crossed completely there; not the best memory for names/user names :)

Seano and Snitchy are clever fellows...

/Off topic.

dhz have since upgraded their frames as the top shock mount was bending.. no faults since the upgrade took place..

yer this happened me. hadn't seen that it was a problem for anyone else till now. Were they upgraded on from the old model to the new model (from the outlaw to the drpro) or just an ongoing upgrade for the new bike. If it was the new bike that got uprgraded has anything else been done to it coz i did notice the pic on the dhz site of the bike (im talkin the 140 now so sorry) has a red shock now id when i got mine was white.

How would i fix it the bent shock mounts. would i just make a metal shape similar to the shock mount and weld it on to make it a bit more strong? Havent seen the bike in a while but when i rode thought it had felt like it was a bit like... wavy in a staright line (im geussing the swing arm action wasn't quiet right) so had a look under to tighen some stuff. (coz i have had that feeling before from just the bolts throught the shock not being tied tight) and saw that they were badly bent.

just another warning on mounts that bend are the petrol tank mounts near the oil cooler.

Thanks Mitch
