Lifan 140 intake manifold question

First post here. You folks seem to be the experts on these things.

I just put a Lifan 140 into a postie bike. The engine was supplied with a 26mm Sheng Wey carb, a copy of a Keihin. The manifold is 26mm ID on the carb side but only 22mm ID on the engine side even though the intake port on the head is 26mm. The supplier says this is to increase velocity at the intake valve. Would it not be better if the manifold were 26mm all the way though?

Supplier is a doo-doo-head. Most of the Chinese manifolds for the 125-up are 26mm throughout. Sounds like a 90/110 manifold. If they won't send you a more better one, and you can hog it & flog it, go for it. Carb use a rubber boot or direct-mount?

eBay should have them for $10 or so, too, or there's likely a member who'd only charge postage and give you one. Posting from the States is $5 for slow, $15 priority.

yeah, if you buy a new one i think you can get em for about 12 ish posted on ebay.. but most bike shops should have them at no more then 20-25 bucks anyways..

but in saying that most shops seem to sell them only as the manifold, no gaskets or spacer..

best option is ebay, or 26mm Inlet Manifold Gasket - DHZ Mini Moto
