Is there a way to check oil slinger without draining my oil?

Set the bike on its side maybe?

this happened to my mate and when we got home from riding his dad took the spark plug out and stuck a screwdriver with grease on the end in and fished out a rock lol it was pretty big as well :)

It kinda sounds like really loose valve clearance or maybe shagged valve spring.
I had a similar rattle not long ago and it was my muffler, I took it apart and the baffle had come loose so I repacked it really tight and that was it.
I'd tear down the head and have a look if I was you, it's really easy and there's a guide for it here somewhere. Hows the compression when kicking the bike over slowly?

Now that you say that, I nocited that my end can was loose, The bottom where it meets the pipe, the rivets have came loose, But even when i hold the can and the pipe with my foot i can still hear the shaking, Should i take the pipe off and start the engine?

Im going to check the clutch basket/oil slinger tonight.

Then if its not that ill strip down the head and see whats up, Thanks for the replies.

hmmm if you have rivets the only way to disassemble the muffler is by drilling them out, so yea I'd just take the pipe right of and start the engine

what ended with this noise?

sounded like severe valve train noise....

line your 2 timing marks up again and check the clearance on each valve.
also check that you cant push either of the valves down too easy.
and it may even pay to pull the cover off the front of the head to check in where the cam is...there is a decompression setup in there that may of come apart somehow..

one other thing that comes to mind...is the timing chain tensioner...iv seen engines where the owner removed the tensioner and chose not to put all the parts back in..
there should be a long spring, a long hollow push rod with holes in it and also a plastic/rubber tip on the rod.(the tip does fall off)

did the previous owner say if he pulled the engine apart a little to check it out...

anyways good luck
