hey all, first time poster here

im quite new to bikes but have a general idea on engines, my pitpro 140 seems to be idleing really low and will have lots of trouble running on closed choke, also when its at idle i have to be really easy back on the throttle or it makes a popping sound and cuts out. i've heard there is a way to change the idle level by messing with a screw or something? is this true? if so would anyone mind giving me a basic run down on how to change it

thanks in advance

Well on my bike there's an idle switch, but i'm not sure if it's on thumpstars. I'm guessing there's a screw or something, check near or on the side of motor for a switch or something arather for something, if you can't find anything or not sure about it wait for other replies.

have a look at your carby.
there will be a screw that is inline with the slide ( the bit your cable goes into)

when the bike is running, slowly screw it in and you should find it will idle faster.
just make sure you only touch the screw thats inline with the slide cause the other one is the mixture screw.

hope this helps ya

just adjust the throttle free play screw on the handle bars (right side where the throttle is) until it idles a bit harder.
ur best off to just start it and then ride straight away to get the engine warm. then when u try start it u should find it will idle fine.

thanks zumanity problem solved, she runs much better now.

to the poster above me i actually DID use the search button but it may amaze you to know that not every topic ever has been covered.

thanks again.
