Hi guy's i have just put a lifan 150 into a post, it previously had a 140 in it with after market CDI, i put wire to wire thinking they were the same and no go, i was just wondering if i have to run the CDI that came with the 150, any info on this will be greatly appreciated, just to get back on the road to do some.........

you have to run it with the cdi it came with and its better to get the wireloom too;)

yep the lifan 150 runs a digital cdi unit, early engines runs no digital.

you need the loom and the large black cdi..
where did you purchase your engine from?
 
Hey thanks for the reply's guy's, yeh after dicking around i found out i had to use the 150 cdi, got it going it's F$#King unreal, i got the motor down at Yamoto, Moto revo, moss st slacks creek, cool bunch of guys, i will post some picks up soon, thanks again.

Just out of curiosity, did you just install the CDI or run a whole new loom? (Any plug adaptions)?
 
You have to use the CDI supplied and get a loom its easier, like the guy's said in this thread, there is also a wiring dwg as well, the charge system will run the light but the batery will die at about 2 weeks of riding all the time (due to brake light and nutral and horn running off batt and not outer rotor) i have a switch that turns the light off during the day to direct current to top the batt up works well, there is a fix to run the wasted earth to batt as well, i had a 140 in the post it was good but kept breaking kick start gears, and then finaly gave a good boot and cracked the case, the 150 fiddy is the go, stronger box and heaps more torque.

If i was purchasing just a 155Z and running the cdi and loom like yourself, How much of the loom do I need? (Also how big is it?)

Anybody, know the cost of a 155z Loom
