Yeah I had to order some valve stem seals from shepp yamaha today, i dont like em that much either, the yank bloke is all about getting his money, not caring about the customers, or employees,

ok so i got some parts!
now i need a rattle gun lol!

Already have my athena gaskets ready to go, just need to rip this sprocket bolt off.. lol it wont budge... rattle gun it is!

ahhh gotta love rattle guns! got it off within half a second lol!

so damage;
Not bad, other then a bit of scoring on the piston and the cylinder wall, honed a fair amount, it should be cleaned up when she runs!
Valve stem seals were junk, explaining the very smokey 50 riding around in the paddock, exahaust valve was "interesting.." lol but came up neat! rings, were pretty spot on, other than normal wear, so just shiny edges, and not the sharp... so meh.... better safe than sorry!

Did someone ask for a bit of Carbon?

I aint paying an arm and a leg for new valves! ahahaha

so..... umm the honed bore wont accept the piston and rings.. mind you the piston and rings are fresh!!!!
any ideas?
i found a couple of nicks on the taper of the bore.. fixed them still nothing

is it a new standard piston ?
are you putting the piston in from the bottom of the bore ?
tried without the rings on ?

yeah sure is!
yeah im not that silly ahaha
yeah its tighter towards the bottom of the bore... i'll run the hone on it for a bit longer... the compression rings are the only rings that are making it catch

Did you measure the ring gap before you fitted it to the piston ?

The bottom of the bore should be a touch bigger than the top
The problem with a small engine hone is that it wont alway hone the bore square.
Having it done professionally would ensure that it's square.
But you'd think a standard piston would fit straight into a standard bore, let alone after honing it ?

cant seem to put the fork boots back on.. bit odd ive tried some lube and using small screwdrivers to pry them up and over, but nope....

Leave it sitting in the sun for a while, make's them more pliable.

Hmmmm I reckon I timed it incorrectly, I recall seeing somewhere a thing that says I need to line the flywheel on the last mark with the the case protrusion, there are two marks, I believe I lined it up with the "firing" marks rather than tdc, the marks look like this; I-I I
I think the last one is tdc, meh, I'll drop the oil and the chain tensioner, and jump a few teeth on the head...

hmm... runs nice, i must have timed it right then, lol
it doesn't miss, or have an issue with starting
i modded the throttle cable... and well... that didnt work to well...
i might run a ne cable... i might have one laying around, if not... snaptrax im raiding you!
