i would have a look at ESD [ sponsored dealer to this forum ] they have some genuine 25mm mikunis which are very good when fitted with a 105 main jet to suit a 125cc.

Any ebay seller generaly wont have a 26mm mikunki , The 25mm listed on ESD is a VM22 copy which is a 22mm Mikuni , no if and's or but's about it. If it has a mounting bolts that bolt to the inlet manifold and its labled as a 25mm, 26mm or 30mm Its a FAKE and its only a 22mm carbi The REAL 26mm mikuni have a rubber boot that mounts to the inlet and the carbi side is hose clamped on.

This is what a REAL 26mm mikuni looks like

hey guys thanks for showing me the differences between the real and fake i was wonding where you can get the real deal, or even better giving me a link from ebay so i can buy it

thanks

come on guys i tried finding on ebay and they are all the 22mm plz help

thanks

Mikuni carb's have been made in China for some time now,and if you pick up any carb with the Mikuni on it ,then it's the real deal not a fake like everyone say's.
The bolt on flange on Mikuni's is nothing new, they made a VM 18 carb in something like the 1970's or possibly earlier.
As i said before,if it say's 'Mikuni' on the carb, then it's a REAL Mikuni carb!!

Yes, there are Chinese Mikuni carbs and Japanes ones, they are both pretty good.

The pitpro 140 comes with the chinese one, most of the chinese ones have a butterfly valve.

Mikuni have used 2 types of 'choke' system on their carb's,the plunger type, all 18-26mm VM carb's and the butterfly type, which is used on some 30mm and up carb's.
Not being a smart a@#e,but i've been around the carb game and i don't want people to think their carb's junk.
What's interesting is these flange type Mikuni's were fitted to some stationary engines(generator's etc).

ive got a mikuni pz26 copy on my bike and it goes heaps good i wouldnt worry about getting a genuine carby as its too much money and wont really give much gain over a decent copy carby, and the cpy i have is a 26mm carby not 22mm

Well, I measured up my 25/26mm chinese copy mikuni and sure enough, it's 25mm! NOT 22mm. It doesn't have a butterfly valve choke and runs pretty damn well.

I've been told that the chinese copy carbs are 99% as good as the genuine stuff and about a 3rd the price. Same jets etc. simple choice for me.

I have however heard that the Keihin flat slides are slightly better than the mikuni. I might look that way if I find my mikuni doesn't give me enough top end later on, on my motard

hey tubes 380

just wondering where did you buy the mikuni pz26 it looks like the real?:D

Just because the carb measures a certain size at the outlet doesn't mean that's what size it is ! The Mikuni's sold on ebay with 25 mm outlets are 22 mm carbs - it's printed on the float bowl if you take a really good look .They are on Pitsters in the US and they advertise them as 22 mm Mikunis . The 30 mm outlet Mikunis on 140 bikes are in reality - 26 mm Mikunis - they have a 24 mm slide .

Put a REAL 28 mm Mikuni off a KX80 or any other 80/85 next to any pitbike Mikuni and you'll feel like a complete fool for thinking they are as big as you've been conned into believing ! A Genuine VM-28 Mikuni has a 27 mm slide - 49 mm O/D inlet flange - 38 mm O/D outlet with a 33 I/D .

In the real world of NO BS - the size of a carb in mm is the area thru the slide section - IF you THINK you have a 25 mm carb then you should be able to put something measuring 25 mm in diameter ( or the equivalent squashed into an oval shape ) right thru it ~ IF NOT - then you have a "make believe / fantasy " 25 mm carburetor !

Mikuni make a flatside carb,24 or 26mm i believe, now that would be an interesting carb!
Anyone actually tried a Keihin 28mm flatside on a 140 Lifan?

Just because its chinese DOES NOT mean its a copy!!!!! Its still a genuine mikuni carb just made in China, they are pretty much just as good as the jap made ones.

Mack seems to say they work good in his thread on porting . I'm going to try a 28 mm OKO (Keihin copy) soon . A 24 to 26 mm carb would be better for general dirt flogging and you can go bigger for road (motard or drag racing use) .

There is a guy selling what appears to be Keihin flatslides on ebay but they are most likely cheap copies so they're most likely no better than the OKO's !

You be the judge :

They might be genuine Mikunis - but the claimed size is FALSE !!!!!!! A bike with a genuine VM-24 mm Mikuni OR PE-24 Keihin would flog a bike with a "25" mm ebay "Made in Japan" Mikuni ! It's misleading info similar to how some sellers say their bikes have a 19" front and 18" rear wheel when the bike actually has 14/12 ! A full sized MX bike has a 21" inch front wheel and a 19" rear !

The chinese alter their specs to make things "sound" better "for advertising purposes" as one seller put it when I informed him that the 125 Lifan Super motor he sold me was a 52.4 x 55.5 ~ 119 cc motor ! I've emailed several sellers of "25" mm Mikunis to ask them who told them their carbs are 25 mm or whatever size they claim and they have NO answer !

Cactus Jack,I reckon the OKO(keihin) might work out fine if tuned.
Do you intend on fitting this to a 140 Lifan? You MUST tell us how you go!
Holley should get the Chinese to market their carb's,they could sell 600 vac's as 1050 dominator's!!
