dont know if this is true but this is what i was told by an official on sunday that mini racing will be taken under motorcycling AUSTRALIA inline with there motocross regulations and rules which means that clubs that run a motox day or event will be able to run mini racing on their MX day schedule, that is to say any club MX day will be able to run minis with their big bike days
cant see it happening personally as most clubs have trouble getting thru the days events as it is without mini classes as well

i hope it is true.
tho, ever since MA came into play mini races has died off a lot..

hopefully some mx tracks don't turn there nose up at this too.. it can only mean more members in the clubs..
and also id have to say 70% mini racers ride/race big bikes too so its a double win if ya can take both to a club day..

great should make it easier to have prac days too
ma did the aus minimoto champs too
gfc maybe ma is feeling it too

I'm sceptical I gotta say .... in my opininion the MA suck the fun out of everything they touch anyway ... and yeah I can't see em havin time to fit us in their race schedule that is already packed ... with all the classes we got not a chance. But hey maybe I'm wrong, sure wouldn't be the first time.

yer these are the classes they would hav to run
17.11.2.1 Senior Classes- 16 years of age and over:
a) Stock 50cc,
b) Limited 50cc,
c) Mod 88cc,
d) Mod 110cc,
e) 110 Big Wheel Mid Size,
f) Super Mod,
g) 125cc,
h) Open Outlaw,
i) Women,
j) Vets over 30 years of age,
k) Seniors. Pro Class,
l) Seniors. Amateur Class.
17.11.2.2 Junior Classes-. 12 to under 16 years:
a) Stock 50cc.
b) Limited 50cc.
c) Mod 88cc.
d) Mod 110cc.

sounds good in theory, unfortunatly the vast majority of mini riders wont race or ride on a full size track. up here in qld we have a club at fort lytton that let the minis race once a month and practice every weekend but hardly any minis turn up. the track is not as big as the reedy creek or stanmore tracks but most complain it is too big for minis. i think i will stop now as i am getting angry.

they dont need to run every class. the tracks can also combine some of the classes and score them seperatly.

it's at the clubs descretion and always has been

dmcc (wanthaggi) are happy to chuck a round in there praccy days for the mini's as long as we have the numbers. i know traralgon will do the same.

i reckon we could get a couple of other gippy tracks on board as well. the problem is all the pussy little bench racers that show up to the track see how rough it is then bail. hell some wont even show up because of that. i mean brad got the same complaints about kurri didn't he.

from a practice or club day a run what ya brung class would be sweet.
once you get in sweet with the club they can allocate time for a minimoto only club days like what brad does. but raceing costs money and there's alot of deluded people out there that think because the bikes are cheap it should be cheap to race them.

well this season has cost me 2k already and i've only done one race.......

if MA get involved then it will just get more expensive for everyone.

it is the future thats for sure, if this was to happen it will make it alot easier to go racing put it this way it will be alot cheaper man i remenber paying like 20-30 to go race my big bike at club days , if clubs were to have say a open class just one class it could work and be ran on the smae day as the big bikes ,

with that being said we are hoping for MA to allow our premier bikes (lxr and dhz 70 style bikes ) to be allowed to race against say 65cc or 85cc bikes but only time will tell tho

in the long run it wil make it alot easyier for pitty riders u will not have to travel ect everyone could just go to there local and race

Well annual licence then just pay on race day which was about $40~50 so not to bad

I cant see how MA makes it expensive. Thought there must of been hidden costs there some where to running it all.

this will never happen unless they are juniors riding the lxr or dhz 70 style because M.A will not mix juniors with seniors

Im pretty sure thats what he means pbk . It already is in usa

not so
with ma provide insurance have you ever paid for a knee reco

it's expensive to race with or without ma insurance and so on i'd hate to be paying rusty's insurance for a race no one turns up to
half if not more of his entry goes to insurance then $11 a rider goes to ma and 5 a rider goes to the ambo's then the club takes a cut not much in it for him hey

local club day cost about 30-40 as long as you have a ma license and you can run them monthly or more

ma license for us is only $185 national restricted it's $285.00 for the big bikes so we haven't got it all that bad
although that price to use it 6 times a year makes it dear but tuff **** it's a whole heap of fun hey

When I was younger and racing state championships just entering to each round meant I was eating baked beans on toast.

club membership
ma license
series entrys
affiliate club memberships so you can practice
entrys to opens and club days

me and some mates were talking and figured it would be so much cheaper if there wasnt the MA politics involved.

rule number 1: everyone has their own personal insurance and ambulance cover
rule 2: ride.

even MA has a disclaimer at the start of every race, "motorcycle racing is dangerous, you may be injured, mamed or killed, and its not MAs fault."

who doesnt have their own personal health cover? what happens if you trip and break your leg? or fall down some stairs when drunk and smash your teeth up?

looks like i better pull out my old MA licence policys, coz I have had two recons. but I guess if my own health cover covered it then i wouldnt be entitled to anything from MA.

after stewing over this for a while let me add..
have a sanctioning body governing events will be a good thing. providing the people governing the events have a good idea of what is going on.

I am in no way against everyone having licenses and going through scruiteneering. that makes it safer for everyone.

I understand that mini racing will be considerably cheaper than Nationals MX.
