After only a few rides, my oil cooler started pissing oil all over the exhaust, then the replacement ( under warranty ) cooler did the same thing after only a couple opf hours riding. They're made of extruded alluminium sections clamped together between a couple of cast alloy sections, and both have leaked at the joints.
Has anyone had the same problem with these coolers?
Thanks
Stu

Wow problems allready?? Sounds like those coolers have a design fault or somthing...

one of my mates had a similar problem when he would accelerate hard oil started pissing out he said he was going to take the oil cooler off and see what happens do you reckon it will still run?

yer but u have to run a hose between the two plugs on the engine so they join together
honestly i wouldnt run a 140 without it i would rather wait and get a new 1 like the radiator style from dhz

yea, oil coolers are just there for bling... they are not race bikes... my sisters crf150f has no oil cooling system and that has no problems and it gets a thrashing so i dont see why it wouldnt be good

on the lifan 138 and 140 (two holes at the bottom on the crank case and clutch cover). You need to have a hose connecting them together. NEED TO.

hey stoo whats with your exhaust? have you made a h bomb or something?

Or that. :D

When the engine comes new or doesnt have an oil cooler the holes are plugged with bolts.

First off ...... those types of oil coolers are complete Krappen Schitten .......

To run without the cooler you HAVE to either get a STOCK cam end plate OR join the two holes together with a looped hose OR you can grind a groove in the oil cooler plate coming from the bottom hole (oil supply gallery) to the centre just like the top hole on the cooler plate and the same as a stock plate has . With oil cooler plates they have simply blocked the oil flow from the oil gallery to the cam and directed it out of the head thru a cooler and back in thru the top hole where it then goes to the cam .

IF you just plug the holes ....... the cam , bearings , rockers , valve guides and stems will die a very quick death ........ and you'll be very lucky if the valves don't go down and STAY down to get smashed by the piston (mainly exhaust valve) ....... LOL ...

if you run anything 140cc and up it will blow the engine dont have to listen to me but i have first hand experience mine blew it was a xm-33 2011 gio 140r they need a oil cooler theyre not just for bling
