I just got some berik mx boots, and im really struggling to change gear with em on, as there so fat i cant get them under the shift peg? and cos my legs are bent so much being a small bike they rub the back of my knees bad!! :S
How do you boys manage?? anyone use a shorter boot?

pretty much nobody rides pitties with full size MX boots on(unless they have moved the gear shift higher) but they use ankle high boots(forget what they're called).

what you talkin bout willis

i ride with big boots but i dont have the rubing on the back of knee issue my boots fit me

there called slammers the ankle high boots but i'm not a fan

you will have to adjust the gear lever on your bike to a suitable position and maybe wear your boots in a bit to soften them up

good luck

hi there i just wear a pair of lace up steel cap boots for riding my pitty and they work fine no rubbing

Yep I run full sized boots too ... it just feels better for me when when I stick my foot out .... but I grew up riding big bikes and have always felt naked on a bike without my boots on.

But yeah adjust your shifter I got size 12 feet and I get em in there no worries

i hate riding mini's with boots on.... hate it hate it hate it!!!!!!!!!

i even hate them on a big bike, but i value my shins & ankles so i wear them

Same Same, i ride with big boots. Always have always will. On big bikes & little bikes Sounds like you books may be a little to big for you if they rub the back of your knees

MX boots on 50s sucks. I run Tech 10's on big bikes, but on the 50 its way too awkward. Ive got Thor 50-50 boots. They are ok, but i still rather shoes....When i corner i tend to tilt my ankle down, and when i run boots i cant do it and it feels *********. If your boots are rubbing on the backs of your legs you must have some seriously short legs on you! My tech 10's dont come close to the backs of my knees.

I instantly envisioned this image in my head Dready ... :p

Yep , I feel "vulnerable" without adequate foot protection on too ... but full MX boots can hamper your reactions at times ...

LOL!^^^^^^

move your gear shifter up a spline...

me, i feel the volleys are the way to go...i would have lost my leg if id been wearing boots when i had my acco... boots dont slide off quite as easily...

each to their own:)

LMAO Cactus ....now that's funny :D

he looks like a hard ass phillipino scooter racer :D

And yeah I run sk8 shoes in sk8parks and just round the yard because mx boots are a bit inflexible but I ripped a hole in my foot like a 50cent piece once running sk8 shoes and it sorta gave me the fear

Big MX Boots can be a pain in changing gears and braking BUT they will have more chance in saving your leg if something happens.

Its better for you IF you ride with Big MX Boots, you just have to get use to them, haha!

Unluckily for this guy wearing some sort of Volley's...he Now Regets wearing Big MX Boots and said he will NEVER Ride without them on!!!

Check out the damage this guy received from NOT wearing Big MX Boots...

one dang good reason to wear big bike boots - Planet Minis

Most Screwed up ankle Ive seen!!!

owww! bit like what mine looked like... but i never had my actual foot xrayed.... hmm, ankle yes, but not my foot. i should get a copy:) pacify all us gore-whores:)

She's a chick and she bailed mid air on a jump ... the equivalent of jumping off the roof of a house without building up to it over time ... If you're going to go jumping and knocking yourself around you better really be the part ... and that includes toughening your physical self up thru weight training etc ... Weights thicken your bones and increase the bone density so that they can withstand sometimes unbelievable impacts and loads ... Also , don't take stupid risks by riding over and above your ability ... or trying to perform daredevil jumps on natural tracks ... Most of the Crusty Demons type jumping that everyone sees is all choreographed and the jump and landing ramp angles and positions are all carefully calculated to match the bikes speed ...

Incidentally , my Uncle was a para trooper in the commandos ... as preparation they make you walk for miles across country with heavy back packs on plus all the firearms etc ... He used to pose off by jumping off the roof of houses and landing with a thud ... then walked off casually as if it was nothing since landings from para trooping carrying full survival and fighting gear can also be particularly hard ... In later years (5 years later) ... he was in bad pain and had to have both cartilages removed from his knees ... then the hip pain started and he found his hip joints were damaged from the impacts ... His feet and ankles were perfect though ... he never broke a single bone in his life ... and he only wore lace up boots ... but he paid dearly above the shins ...

Same thing goes for boxing or karate ... you can punch something hard (like someones head) and shatter the bones in your hands ... gloves or no gloves ... At the end of the day ... as far as jumping and crashing bikes goes ... you need to ask yourself ... Am I tough enough to withstand the years and years of chronic pain I will have to endure right up until the day I die ... if the answer is NO ... then think about how you ride ... In a nutshell ... avoid crashes at all costs ... At times chronic pain from simple wear and tear and all the minor knocks and bangs you copped over the years of riding/racing can make you wish you were dead ...

i wear my normal mx long fox tracker boots on my pitty..i like it...when u put ur foot out its good. and i reken its eaiser then using them on a dirt bike, haha bit weird ayyy.....

I'm gonna buy some thor quadrants soon, they probably wont be as comfy as a pair of globes but after sitting on my ass for a month and a half not being able to go to work or go for a ride because of a squished foot I think it'll be worth it, btw I'm a casual employee so I don't get paid for time off :(

I was a paratrooper ... not commandos though, I was in the 3rd battalion .... we had a thing called the Co's test ...once a month ... 82km forced at 7kms an hour march 3 hours marching rest 15 mins 3 hours marching till it's done ...40kg standard pack plus about 1500 rounds of 7.62 as I was the Gunner ...oh yeah it was just before the minimi I trialled it but had to patrol with a mag58 11kg I was lugging around 60kg ... a fun day out if ever there was one .
Your uncle's tech way of rolling takes weeks to master on a swinging rig in the gym at albatross naval base were I did most of my jumps ...it's called the para roll and you sorta roll more than compress front ,front right, right ,back right, back it don't matter .... it's very unatural at first you sorta present your thigh to the ground ... but yeah bet he's still got killer calf defiition ... mine's still pretty good and it's been years since I've trained like that ...in the end my spine got pressed and that has slowed me down a bit too ....

but yeah know about para training all edurance and weight bearing

train hard /fight easy :D

Shorty boots and knee pads suit me better ... I need to be able to move my ankles ...

A neck brace is a good idea ... your neck has to support your head and acts like a uni joint and suspension for it ... over time the discs can get damaged from wear and tear due to thousands upon thousands of unnatural movements , jolts , jarring and vibrations ... As a result the discs thin out and lose height so the nerves get pinched where they exit thru the joints ... that can affect your grip and reactions and sends referred or "radiated" pain everywhere ... your shoulders , arms , hands , neck , chest , jaw and head can cop nagging pain to the point where you feel like you've been worked over by a gang of thugs with baseball bats ...

How many of you guys wearing full MX boots have had tranny problems with your China engines ? ...
