Why aim to buy a motard ready bike? That's silliness and just limits your options... I just bought a Nitrous 150 which I'm doing up to motard. I'll have spent a little less than $1,500 by the time I'm finished and more or less the only thing I'll be leaving stock (except for oil tuning) is the forks. If I sell off the gear I remove I could almost have some decent forks on it for ~$1,600!

You could spend less than me too, I've bought some stuff that I'm pretty sure I won't need and you could probably get some cheaper stuff than me that will do just as good a job :)

That leaves you with ~$1,000 for decent gear, If you buy a dirt helmet + goggles for ~$200 then you have ~$800 to buy a race suit, boots and gloves. That will get you some decent kit to go with your decent little beast :D

Work the engine once you can push the YX150 to its limit...

My build thread is coming. I just got word most my parts have landed so I'm starting soon :D

Looks like I need to get my hands on the either YX150 or Daytona 150. $2.5k is solely for the bike as due to my years in riding sport bikes I have loads of leather suits & helmets already. I just want to get into mini motard racing as I can't afford to race full size motocycles.

Wow, in that case perhaps buy one of the new RevMX's and spend $500 on motarding it... I believe someone (Londin from memory) is doing one up as a motard bike soon if you are prepared to wait for his review of how it handles the tarmac ;)

It runs a 155z engine :)

Otherwise, suggestions people?

yes this has already been suggested, hes in NSW so he can only have a 150cc motor witch is why we are still arguing over what bike would be best... the revMX will always be the first bike suggested were money allows.

I'm leaving it at a suggestion only... The RevMX (to my mind) looks to be much better suited to the dirt due to its larger form factor general setup. I could be wrong and I'm certainly hanging out to see what Londin thinks of it setup as a tard :)

Suggestions on bikes to look out for second hand might be a good start while he/we are waiting :D

Hey I'm doing my pitpro up for motard and I'm from the central coast so I'll be heading down Wollongong once a month Is there any mini motard in the act as I'll be working up there for 6 months so I may do some riding while I'm up there
