Runs Great! replaced manifold gasket and slid that black piece as far down as possible which is about half. Pictures will be up tomorrow.

So i have a SSR-125 Manual w/ Clutch.
Ive cleaned carb.
Went to go start it.. with my new exhaust and as soon as i kick start it.. the rpm is really high as in im riding it or something. Thought it was the throttle cable so i took it off my throttle and thats not my problem. Any ideas? is it a carb issue? a jet? was running good before. Thanks everyone!

I'm guessing you played with the Little Brass Screw that has a Spring On It!?

Thats your Fuel to Air Mixture, With The Engine OFF & Not Running

Tighten it all the way in & then turn it 1 1/2 - 2 turns out, Mark your screw driver so you know when you made a Full turn, you can really bugger up your engine if its off

Hope this helps mate, best regards!

Good work mate! The black piece, or slide, should really go right to the bottom tho. However if its running great then I guess you can get away with it :lol_hitting:

It runs a lot better than it did and Jake i will definitely try that out to get a better idle. And Jomo yeah it runs good it just just that black piece wont slide all the way down no matter if i turn it or move it but it rides!

The screw on the carby with the spring on it is the idle screw, Dont wind it all the way in & whatever turns out, No need & that will ruin the spring (Leave that for the actual mixture screw that has no spring)

The actual mixture screw can be adjusted while the motor is running

I will definitely try that! Make her run mint! Pics will be done soon! Any ideas how to get that black slider piece in the cab to go more down like its suppose to be..is there a certain way to turn it? Only going in half way.. And it is skipping and running at a high rpm but not as bad as it was.

On the bottom of the round slide there is a little angled section, You have to line that up with the idle screw which is the large screw on the side with a spring, Simple as that really, The idle screw determines the height of the slide and the amount of RPM's

Note the nothed section in the slide (number 4), This is where the idle screw (That has the spring) lines up (number 17)>

How far is the idle screw wound in? If you have wound it all the way in then wound it back out "1-1/2 - 2 turns" out then it will be wrong, This is the setting for the mixture screw

Wind the idle screw out & you should notice the slide drop if you have the slide the correct way round

Highly Appreciated! That helped me out a lot! Im going to give that a try and hopefully we got some good news! Check my bike out in the General Chat category!

Slide cutaway goes to the rear of the bike & the guide pin groove goes on the opposite side to the idle screw

Hope you can understand & follow that & you cant go wrong

so your saying the pin going down in my pic is suppose to be facing up?

No!!!
The slide needs to be spun AROUND 180 degrees (Not upside down)

Read through ALL of the posts above

I put it back together! The problem was it was off by like a mm. All fixed! Carbs is the only thing I don't really know about these bikes but I mostly know everything else so I really appreciate your help to get my bike running mint again! If you ever need any help or anyone else does pm me. I will help you to my best ability. Thanks
