Before racing minis years ago I was running with Queensland Vintage MX I used to race a Huski 500 2stroke. Then an IT 465 with YZ triple clamp and swingarm. Along the way I stumbled across an IT 125. The 175 was common as but this little gem was rare. I fully rebuilt the engine and gearbox and became what we affectionately named "Jeckle & Hide" such a tame and sweet little thing... Until you cracked your wrist open and turned into a freak wheel standing everywhere. It ended up buried in my shed for about 7 years until just recently. With too much time on my hands being off work mending broken bones and nothing left to do on my LXR until the money train stops by. I pulled her out brushed some dust off and after a quick carb clean she fired straight away. I took her out in the yard, gave her a bath, sprayed her with WD and back in the corner she went. Then yesterday my eldest daughter (who turns 15 next week) tells me all she wants for her birthday is another Moto. Cos if I'm riding again she wants to get back into too. I started to ponder any number of potential builds I could start and then it dawned on me... My lil IT 125 is nearly good to go. It puts around so peacefully from idle to about 1/4 throttle. I've actually taught a few kids and a couple girls how to ride on this thing. So my first step was to sit down beside it and right out a parts list. Keeping in mind I've somehow gotta make this old thing look COOOOL.
